medicine is a science.. science = hypothesis= educated guess.. the people, including this man that survive have only God to thank, I am sure the posters posting here agree.

I agree with the first part of your sentence to a degree, but the second part is totally inaccurate.

To be serious for a moment his parents were great. I was in the hospital at age 7 after sinus surgery. My mother smelled something funny from the kid in the bed next to me. That kid was in because he had cut his heel with glass and it wasn't healing.

My mom told his mom to go tell the nurses to get a doctor in immediately to look at his foot. The nurses said he had been checked and was fine and there was nothing at all to worry about.

My mom told her to go back and raise holy hell and not give in. She did and just to calm her down they called in a doctor to look at the kids foot.

Turns out he had the very early stage of gang green. I was moved to another room immediately and the kid was placed in isolation. The boy would have lost at least his foot if not for my mother sending his mother out to raise hell.

My grandmother saved her sons life after a drain was removed too early. She raised absolute hell and sure enough the patient in the next bed was the one who was to have a drain removed. My uncle would have died if not for my grandmother pestering them to check into it.

Never trust doctors or hospitals to do the right thing. If you think something is wrong demand a 2nd opinion and don't ever let up.

^^^^^^^^^^^THIS - especially where the NHS is concerned. They just want to off you at the best of times.

In the UK it's now assumed that by default you're an organ donor.

This can lead to knife-happy doctors and manufactured 'DNR' notes.

This is why my Living Will expressly forbids any harvesting of my organs.

About 6 mths ago I meet a young woman that told me a mind blowing story of her similar experience. She was involved in an accident with a drunk, pronounced dead at the scene by a police office and then her vitals came back after she was cut open for the organ harvest (showed me the top to bottom torso scar).

Shit like this is the reason on why I am not a donor. I feel like If your on the donor list they look at you more of a commodity they can use instead of a human life to save. Anon

And this is where the single payer healthcare nuts want to take us. This incident makes a better argument against it than anyone ever could.
