From the reports of Racial crimes, riots, mobs, just in the last year,
it seems we are in the beginning stage of a race war.
It shocks me the way people are behaving in times like this,
and it shocks me no one cares, that our own president wont comment
about it.

I live in a city (Memphis) where the population is 63% black.
But I don't see any signs of the trouble some people seem to
want there to be. We have over 308 million people in the US
and out of that number you can only cite the involvement of
less than a few dozen in any racially motivated incidents. I'm
sorry, but 99% of the rest of us Americans enjoy our standard
of living and aren't going to give that up to engage in a war
based on ignorance and stupidity. There will always be extremists
of all stripes in society - doesn't mean they have the power to
change that society.

I hear you.. But the fact we come on here and discuss without violence in the flesh is a good thing, we can in a way program our minds by talking about major problems like this and prevent any hostile action we or they might pull.
So in a way we are teaching ourselvs how to react the right way.

I thought diversity was all about non-sameness.

It's not just about race - it's about age, religion, experience, country of origin.

I think the idea of a melting pot is flawed.
