Every signature of an invented story. You guys really need to learn how to recognize these things, 90+% of these "heart strings" stories are fabricated, its all in the details. And when there are too many details and quotes, they are always fake.

It doesn't seem that hard to get an interview of the parents or whoever to say a couple of sentences. Nor is it unlikely it could have actually been her birthday?
Would like to be proven wrong though - sad to hear stuff like this to happen, including people I've known.

There was one at a college nearby - Brooke Willburger case. She disappeared and it took five years to solve. Kidnapping, murder. So I guess when I see a story like this it reminds me of that one.
It was sad. I have empathy for these people, if it is fake then that would turn to pity.

Best defense is probably a gun. If I had a young daughter like her, I'd want her to carry. Thing is, it seems ludicrous to think of college girl walking around with a holster, and it would have to holstered because you sure as hell would want it on you and not in a backpack or something left unattended.

In my experience, mace only pisses someone that is determined off. And, anyone with military / combat experience are pretty well (unless allergic) immune to the effects.

A .38 works better and is easily concealed. Though a little lady should go with a walter pp..

My rude reaction was because I felt the same way as Ghenghy about it.

Hundreds or even thousands of people go missing every year, but then only some get their stories broadcast all around.

So I wonder what qualifies some over others.

Many times these people are agents, prostitutes, or just pictures of real people who are dead or alive that are used for these kinds of stories.

The details are usually made up, and it might lead into a bigger story where the media collects money based on advertisement while keeping people glued to the screen with weird little clues.

So anyway, that is why I was rude about it, maybe it is real, but I've lost faith in the media a long time ago, I find them to be liars through and through.

What about all the missing people that don't get any media attention, and all the murders. No, they get these specific ones that they feel they can use and feed off of.

I mention agents because even groups like the DEA would broadcast deaths of certain individuals who were officers or make up fake murders to give street cred to some of their undercover agents.

So anyway I have trouble believing the news. Sorry about my rudeness though.

When Ghenghy and I say fake, (sorry to speak for Ghenghy) I think we both mean fake in the sense of fake on a larger scale, a made up media/illuminati production, not that the girl is just faking it or whatever.

Fake can include reports of murders, which this may turn out to be.

Fake would mean the name, the individual, the story, the families activities and fundraisers, are all fabricated and fronts, the whole thing being made up essentially by those with the authority and power to make up such things and have them broadcast.

Real police don't do crap about anything as far as I've experienced.

There could be video taped shootings (as in my experience) and they won't even do anything about it when the person is even known.

I've seen police protecting full blown criminals running drug operations in the water in the middle of the night.

Then there are hundreds of missing people, real missing people, real dead people, and we never hear about them at all.

Then suddenly theres such a pro-active family getting interviews with the huffington post, putting up facebook pages, talking to the media, offering 10,000 dollars, blah blah blah.

Believe it or not, what I believe is the media blatantly presents fabrications to the public, and they have been doing it for many years.

This is surely a "real" story in the sense that it is presented by the mainstream media.

There are some people, if not most people, who believe that the mainstream media is trustworthy and only presents actual events, real people, and doesn't have an agenda which includes organized fabrications and blatantly made up stories for various purposes.
