The satanists make a freedom of religion argument but this will not work since they do not have enuff support to display their religion. Once they are majority and display their religion Congress can make no law to prevent it, according to 1A.

There is such a concept of community standards. Having your children sit in the lap of baphomet probably does not conform to these standards.

Oklahoma is predominantly a Christian state, with a long christian history. It is therefore to be expected to have public displays of christianity. Promoting satanism certainly is NOT in the public interest.

Also, lest we forget, the phrase "separation of church and state" does not appear in the constitution.

The LORD thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number,
and mighty is the army that obeys his command.
The day of the LORD is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?

That is some EPIC LEVEL 1000 TROLLING

I like the fact that they made the statue in a sitting position so kids could sit on his lap, like an evil Santa.

Yes it does. Though not directly, anyone with half a brain can see that church and freedom of speech do not coincide. So obviously, church is implied as being separate from state & the 1st amendment being 1st and all..

This isn't a "satanic" issue.

It's a christian issue. Ppl putting expressions of faith on state grounds makes it possible for any religion to do the same. Pandora's box lol

Leave your expressions on private property and stfu

You are sooooooooo correct! I for one would like to put a giant phallus on top of the Oklahoma capital building. It would be fitting since teenage pregnancy seems to be the official state religion.

That would be a sweet statue to put in my back yard.

Freedom of religion.

Christians be mad.
Nope, not freedom of religion. If that were the case we'd be allowed to display Christmas trees and Nativity scenes 'legally' in most states.

..And the Capital Buildings.

This has been a long time coming and I applaud this move (along with the Spaghetti monster stuff) Christians now have a taste of their own medicine.

What this will ultimately do is make it so no religious idols are placed in Government buildings and I am fine with this.

BTW This is NOT a Christian Nation and the bulk of our founders were deists according to their own writings.
