A new survey of Doctors has been released. The results are bleak.
If Obamacare is fully implemented, 83 percent will consider leaving the practice of medicine. Sixty-one percent say it's an affront to their ethics. Eighty-five percent say it destroys the doctor-patient relationship. Sixty-five percent say governmental involvement is the cause of the problems in medical care now. Seventy-two percent say the insurance mandate won't result in improved access to medical care. Seventy-four percent say they'll stop accepting Medicare patients, or leave Medicare altogether. Seventy percent say reducing governmental involvement would be the single best fix for healthcare in this country.

Dad was a doctor (diagnostic radiologist). Now...most of his patients were sent his way due to malpractice concerns, but he stated quickly that 90% of his patients had nothing wrong with them.

He has a lake house and a convertible, so he doesn't forsake the 90%.

The GP is going away. All that will be left are the hospitals and their clinics. We already have three of those clinics here in town. These doctors are on a salary from the hospitals. The hospitals in turn are mostly Govt funded.

I was just at the hospital picking up someone and I can say they were overwhelmingly displeased and vocal about it. However, much like Baldwin's promise to bugout if Bush got elected, reality quickly adjusts impulsive moves.

New doctors have huge student loans to pay off. Many experienced doctors have already left the field back in the 90s as a result of having to deal with insurance companies and the necessary supporting staff to handle the claims. Combine that with excessively high malpractice insurance, those who haven't left to assume teaching jobs have had to partner with other doctors. The medical system was screwed prior to Obama, but this seals the deal.

Besides, we'll just import more doctors from India and South America to fill the slots.

Health insurance used to be something purchased against catastrophic illness. Pharmaceuticals weren't the fastest growing business and doctors chose the drugs, rather than the patients requesting the latest they've seen from ads in magazines and on TV. Torte law wasn't a lottery system for attorneys.

I have talked to doctors who were all for it... If everyone is required to have health care coverage, than all doctors would be guaranteed payment... No more uninsured, why would they hate that... They can add it to Medicare, Medicaid and the other programs they like to milk...
