Praying for his quick, complete recovery...did the cops get the guy?...I think the neighbor should have called the cops FIRST...did he?

Here's what happened:

An elderly neighbor witnessed the break-in and called Brian at his work. Brian came home and confronted the thief, who by that time had found Brian's Glock. He ordered Brian to his knees ~ and then shot him in the back on the way out.

Brian was conscious until surgery ~ they gave him 30 units of blood and removed part of his liver, part of his pancreas, his spleen and a lobe on one lung. They could not find the bullet, but it had done its damage. Brian was in a coma coming out of surgery and they rated his chances of survival (not recovery) at 25% until his mom saw him this morning and he opened his eyes. His chances are now at 50%.

My family is very grateful for your prayer and well wishes. It's times like these, that in spite of being in the best of medical care that we rely on our spiritual support.

Hey...that's what this forum is all about! We can't be there in person for support but that doesn't mean we aren't there in spirit. I'm just glad things are starting to look a little better for him but there's still a long way to go. Just tell him that people around the world are focusing on his recovery while he fights the good fight. In the meantime, maybe you can catch that SOB yourself...I know where there's a wonderful pig pen he'd fall right into.

People are low down... That article or the events Daj described regarding his nephew and the break-in/shooting makes me really mad, and I'm sure it does for other people on here as well, let alone how his family & the people who know him must be feeling. I imagine it feels like there is a strong sense of powerlessness in getting justice done with the intruder, as well as powerlessness with regards to Brian's health and fate being in his and his medical team's hands (and maybe God's hands, too).

That miserable excuse for a human being had better hope the law catches him before Brad (the big brother) gets a hold of him ~ and may God have mercy on his soul if he does, because Brad will not.

Brad and Brian are two corn-fed dudes ~ they are as big as they come and no fool in their right mind would ever want to tangle with either one of them.

I did share with the family that people all over the world have them in their thoughts. They are very thankful and full of gratitude.
