heart A Native American Prayer
O Great Spirit

Whose voice speaks in the winds,
and in the trees
whose breath give life to all the world.
Listen to Your creature!
Hear me!
I am small and weak.
I need Your power.
I need Your wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty,
and let my eyes be glad
beholding the red and purple dawn.

Make my hands touch all things
You have made
with love,
and help my ears to hear Your voice
in everything.

Make me wise
that I may understand
the sacred teachings
You have taught;
Help me learn the lessons hidden
in every leaf and every stone.

O Wakan-Tanka,I need power
not to be greater than my relations
but to conquer the enemy in myself.

Make me ready to come to You always
with a pure heart
and with clear eyes,

So that when the time comes for my life to fade away,
as the sunset fades,
So may my spirit come to You
with honor and without shame.

Heartflowers

Blessings.

Elder's Meditation of the Day - September 22

"I think the spiritual values come first and everything else follows."
-- Leonard George, Chief Councilor

To properly develop, the human being needs to learn the guiding
principles. It is from these principles that we make our decisions.
Spiritual values are the guiding principles given to us by the Great
Spirit. He says if we live by these spiritual values, the results we
experience will be good. These spiritual values will develop and guide
the human being by helping us to think right. Right thinking will
improve our choices and decisions. Doing this will bring good
consequences.

Great Spirit, teach me values first.

and governments."~

RE: A Native American Prayer
This isn't really a prayer... prayers are sacred and my prayers are private, but, I will share this story.

It is always told with a tone of utmost respect, so that it continues a tradition of values and places the highest regards on who we are and we should be remembered as such, it is the story of us.

The story below comes from the Myaamia Dictionary is offered is small sections with 3 versions and are as follows:

1.) written in the myaamia language

2.) the english translation

3.) link to an mp file of the phrase being pronounced in the myaamia language.

mihtami myaamiaki nipinkonci saakaciweeciki

At first the Miamis came out of the water.

eehonci saakaciweewaaci saakiiweeyonki iitamenki

The place they emerged is called ‘Coming Out Place

http://myaamiadictionary.org/files/sound...amenki.mp3

niiyaanci maaciihkaaciki. minooteeni neekatankiki

From there they set off. They left the town.

http://myaamiadictionary.org/files/sound...ankiki.mp3

moohci aweeyaki kihkeelimaawaata eehi ayaawaaci

Nobody knew where they went.

kapootwe nkoti aapweeyaata

After a while one returned.

http://myaamiadictionary.org/files/sound...eyaata.mp3

aapwe pyaata kwitakaki mihtohseeniaki neewaaciki saakiiweeyonki

When he came back the other people saw him at Coming Out Place.

RE: A Native American Prayer
Everything is laid out for you.
Your path is straight ahead of you.
Sometimes it's invisible, but it's there.
You may not know where it's going,
But you have to follow that path.
It's the path to the Creator.
It's the only path there is.

FC thank you for sharing these positive thoughts and the pretty whirling, twirling, dances.

This video shows the Buddha with a thousand hands as performed by The China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe.

All of the performers featured in this video are deaf.

WOW! That was incredibly stunning!! Thank you!

And it just reiterates that we are all on the same path and it doesn't matter what name you want to give what we are searching for. It's all ONE.

And it's beautiful.

It's the way to Peace. In the heart and from the heart. Heartflowers
