A Random Act of Kindness
Lovely people of L.O.P I have a simple request and it is something we can all do. Today you will be doing your normal daily stuff and you will be presented with an opportunity to do something nice for someone. Now before you think you haven't got time,or you can not be bothered, or whatever the reason for not taking this opportunity springs into your head. I want you to stop and rethink, because how ever hopeless the cause may be or useless the task may seem I can assure you that by helping someone in the smallest of ways can make the biggest of differences. We as human beings have a duty to each other to make this unforgiving and uncaring world a little more bearable, just because the guy next to you can't be bothered doesn't mean you should follow suit.
''I don't care because no one else does.'' and ''It makes no difference.'' Are two sentences that we have been told are true but I don't believe that for a second. I will post my random acts of kindness here everyday and I hope you do too. Maybe if more people start showing their humanity and caring then others will realize that people do care, and maybe they will want to add their own small efforts here. We can change the world by opening doors, helping old ladies and feeding stray cats.
One random act of kindness at a time will drag humanity into a new age of happiness and love. I really believe this and deep down I know you do too. Whatever the task know this much I think it's amazing what you did today and I think you made a big difference to someone that needed a glimmer of hope in this god forsaken world.
Love to all

Natural disasters, major attack on the U.S., martial law, civil war, WWIII, foreign invasion/occupation, and then basic survival.

RE: A Random Act of Kindness
And did I mention how well you will be rewarded for your efforts. Sometimes its not always clear how but you always are.
A few weeks ago my partner and I were in a drive thru, we were in the car park eating when we noticed a tramp with a dog looking through the bins. After a couple of minutes I approached him and asked if I could buy him something to eat, he said it was o.k he was fine. Well I don't take no for an answer most of the time and said I would be honoured if he let me buy him something. After much deliberation he agreed to let me buy him a coffee and off I went. I returned and six chicken nuggets for the dog the cost of which was £3.60. He was most grateful and sat down on the kerb to feed the dog. Later that evening the lotto was on and I went to get my ticket to see if I'd won the millions. I was very surprised to find I had won exactly £3.60, coincidence?.... I think not...

RE: A Random Act of Kindness
OK here's my random act of kindness for today.
As some of you know here I am currently undergoing some tests at the hospital and today I was there for a mri scan. I was booked in for 12.30pm an was a little early so decided to go for a cigarette before hand. In the smoking area was another guy he was on his own and looking a little glum. We struck up a conversation and he told me he was having chemotherapy for cancer in his stomach and he had lost some of his hair. I explained why I was there and that I may be facing the same demon in due course. He was on his own and I got the impression that there was nobody at home waiting for him either. After a lovely chat I put out my cigarette and stood up, without asking first I gave him a big cuddle and guess what?? He gave me one back. I then told him that I hope everything went well for him, I would think about him often and we may very well meet again in the smoking area of Bradford Royal Infirmary. He said he would keep an eye out for me.
So then anyone else got a random act of kindness to share?? I would love to hear about it.
Love Tasha-ann

RE: A Random Act of Kindness
I buy beer and cigarettes for one of the local homeless guys. Yeah, I know... seems kinda destructive. But he is an alcoholic, and I figured if I had an addiction and I had to sleep in the streets, what would give me a little comfort? A big ol' dose of my drug of choice.
So every payday, I go buy enough of his favorite beer, "Hurricane High Gravity" for him to have a bender and get him a few packs of smokes.
I used to buy him food, but one day I asked what would REALLY make you happy, he said first would be to get him a room, second would be beer. Since I really can't afford to put him in a hotel, I get him beer.

RE: A Random Act of Kindness
Oh, and about 6 months ago, I got a new laptop. So I cleaned all my personal information off of my old one, and went to the local library where you can use the computers, I put it on an empty desk with a note on it saying if you can use it, take it. Then I sat and read magazines.
It sat for a long time with nobody noticing it, when I saw a young mother with two young kids come in and start using the computer I pointed it out to her and then walked out.
I was very happy it went to somebody who needed it, but I was too shy or embarrased to let her thank me.
