RE: A Warning to Christians
Gotcha! Wrote:During the ministry of Jesus he gave a new commandment to: “love your neighbor as yourself,” and this is an unconditional command.
Yet, many on this forum who claim to be christian, continually beat the drum of hate for their neighbor. This hate has taken many forms, but it is mostly against the gay community.
The bible also states that we will be judged to the same degree that we judge others. If christians follow bible principles, then I would like to warn them that their judgmental attitudes are setting the stage for a big surprise on judgment day.
I am not religious, but I love God and bible principles. My wife will attest that I am not gay, but I have a heart for the poor treatment of gays on this planet of pain.
Christians must stop with the continual promotion of hate against their neighbors.

That is the litmus test.

Most arguments rely on appeals to authority or morality. Truth and reason necessarily rely on neither.

I hope your easter bonnet rots in your mouth.
how very Christian of you....such hate, and with such little provocation.
I do not claim to be a christian. I have a history with Aqua, and she likes to derail my threads.
I went back thru your threads, and found only ONE post of mine on ONE of your threads since you've registered...
and here it is....where I'm agreeing with you...

Aqua Wrote:TheWonderfulNothing Wrote:So Aqua... can we at least agree that the reason u don't kill non-believers for Jesus is because you don't really believe he advocates that? Or do you believe he advocates that and you just aren't Christian enough to do it?
as the parable held a parallel meaning, so would the meaning of 'kill' or 'slay' also have a parallel meaning...
I prefer to think of it as meaning 'kibosh'....as one would 'put a kibosh' on something.
Good. So we can agree that you were mistaken when you said that it was ironic that Jesus would say to both love your enemy and kill his enemy. That's all I wanted.
You meant put the kibosh on something. Interesting interpretation, but at least it's non-violent. I can't say for sure, but I bet Jesus would see no harm in that interpretation.
I like it when us non-believers can find commune with you believers. :)

RE: A Warning to Christians
You have to identify what was said before & what transpired after. Yeshua knew what was to happen, but the human in Him made excuses, thinking someone, even one...would save Him. It never happened. Therefore prophecy, promise & the entire deal was set. HE paid the price, it went from "Law to Grace", you either get it or you do not. It is very simple.

People can do what they want. These behaviors from religious people are nothing new and even I had some of them when I was religious. I used to um...bang random women...it took my un-conversion to realize that my behavior while religious was wrong. Funny how that works.

Commando602 Wrote:I'm against gayism not the person.
Exactly. I don't hate the person but I hate the act and I wont lay down and let them tell me being a homosexual is "great and natural". I admit I'm not the best Christian in the world but if it was so easy to do then Jesus wouldn't have needed to die for us then.
I live next to some lesbians and I invite them over for dinner when I can as well...they just want to be left alone and live their life and that's just fine for me. I have a major issue with the "in your face" ones that try to force their unnatural union down on you and demand you bow to them. I wont do it and I hope no one else does as well.
However this is God's will...we're becoming as perverse as Rome and Sodom and Gomorrah. There are churches allowing them to MARRY in the house of God now which shows how corrupt churches are becoming. All the barriers God put up to protect us from ourselves are slowly being destroyed as well, stuff like DNA modification (animals and food), cloning, weather manipulation, and other God like acts are proof of this. I have no doubt that my generation will see Revelation come to fruition.
