Quote:Iran Welcomes Foreign Aid for Earthquake Victims
Posted Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at 4:45 am
Iran says it is now prepared to accept foreign aid for the victims of Saturday's two earthquakes in the nation's northwest.

Iran's state-run IRNA news agency quoted Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi as saying Iran is ready to receive contributions from other countries.

Iran earlier rejected offers of outside help from the United States, Germany, Russia, Turkey and other nations. Iran's Red Crescent had said the country did not need foreign assistance and could handle the disaster itself.

On Monday, Iran raised the death toll from the 6.4 and 6.3 magnitude quakes to more than 300, with more than 3,000 injured.

The Iranian Red Crescent estimates that 180 villages were damaged in the quakes, with some completely destroyed near the city of Tabriz.

A spokeswoman for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies told VOA from Geneva that the group is working closely with Iran's Red Crescent and that they have set up 6,000 tents to accommodate an estimated 16,000 people who are displaced. They are also providing basic supplies and blood donations for the victims....

Now would be a good time for Obama to put his hand out , a gesture like that would go a long way !

I'm too cynical nowadays. Of course, that makes sense, but I think we've been lied to about geo-politics and all that since birth, and our parents and their parents before them.

Good luck to the 'common' people of Iran affected by this natural/'natural' disaster. I doubt the beneficial reality of any aid promised, or the motives of any world leader(s) with events like this. Hell, it could very well have been a HAARP attack.

If Obama would help, the republicans would use it against him, to show proof he helps the enemy more than Americans.
Right wingers make an Obama presidency impossible, but he still manages somehow and wants again.

Ow and I hope these Iranians can get somewhat of a house build back before the winter.

I am going to contact the Red Cross to see if they are going to help out or play politics.....
In the past , they have worked with the Red Crescent , the Muslim worlds equivalent of the Red Cross.
AS YOU SO WELL STATED IT , SHAKEY , THE AVERAGE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ARE VICTIMS OF THE GEOPOLITICAL GAMES THAT ARE PLAYED
Prayer, good thoughts ,etc for the people of Iran and see if anyone else can think of who to light a fire under to start the stream of aid flowing to those in desperate need.Heartflowers Candle

With Zero political bias, I truly hope the Iranians find their deceased loved ones and have a special moment before burial for them. I also hope the ones without homes now, find their way to people with huge hearts, and open doors. It is a very sad; on top of political, tense time over there right now...I do wish ALL of them the best.
