How are taxes going to fix anything? If Al Gore and the other proponents of "Global Credits" are soooo worried about it why don't they live more green and decrease their carbon footprint? Why don't they? Because the whole erroneous carbon footprint is bogus and they know it, all the while they are laughing at the naivete of the masses whilst reaping their money.

I READ A BBC REPORT ABOUT THE AIRLINE CARBON TAX. THEY STATE AS THE TAX IS PAID THE CARBON GOES DOWN. THEY MUST BE RIGHT, THEY ARE THE BBC.

I think the problem is that the "carbon tax issue" was raised during a relatively short period when the "people caused global warning" was popular. It took so long, the knifing of Kev Rudd and the near loss...that gave the Green"s chance to bulldoze Labor into the carbon tax.

The problem now is that the "fad" is now over and they cant withdraw without loss of face and financial commitment ie the budget is based on the new tax. They know people dont want it, they know dinosaurs produced more methane than anything humans could produce personally and via factories etc but they wont LISTEN to new science on the subject.

If all the big companies found a way to fix the pollution levels....would they then stop charging them? NOOOOO...how could they insist all Energy retailers reduce their bills to customers to pre-carbon and green levels?

As much as I hate Big Ears....ahem...Tony Abbott I will vote Liberals....because Labor gave up listening to us after they last scraped in to parliament. Why in Gods name wont Libs put forth a more charismatic leader? They arent listening either and just hoping relative stability will suffice. That is a crappy way to deal with the public. We deserve MOOOORE!
