Word of caution about scorpions, the teeny ones, the babies, are more dangerous than the adults because they sting will all their venom at once whereas the adults don't use all their venom.

I've lived in Phoenix and had some good times there. The climate in the winter is excellent. But if anything should happen to curtail electricity and/or water, it would turn into a nightmare very quickly. The population is about 1000 times what the local resources could supply in a survival situation, even short term.
