Alzheimer's is really just 'type-3' diabetes, new research shows
Published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, a recent study out of Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) confirms that Alzheimer's is marked by brain insulin resistance and corresponding inflammation, a condition that some researchers are now referring to as type-3 diabetes

I have noted that among the older white haired set of people that I associate with those people on the Atkins diet appear to be the mentally sharpest of the crowd. Those who are eating lots of Carbs already appear to be showing signs of diminished mental capacity in their late Sixties. Proof positive that we are what we eat.

I have known so many vegetarians that I thought were airheads and getting more airheady (Is that a word?) with each passing year....
Now, we know the cause! Go eat some Mexican style Chicharones with entrained fat that drips off of your chin while chomping. It might help restore your brain. At the very least, you can slick your beard down with the oil.
MY Germanic Viking ancestors used to use fat on their beards. They used to have beautiful flowing beards that glistened in the sunlight as they came at your with their broadswords. They ate few vegetables, but lots of meat.

Very interesting
I had two relatives who had Alzheimer's. Both were not blood related they were married to my mother's siblings.
Both consumed large quantities of beer out of cans. When they reported that the brains of Alzheimer's patients had aluminum I thought it was the cans, now it may be the beer+aluminum cans. Hmmmm

I dont doubt it, i feel stupid as hell after a day of eating sweet food. I think there is a connection. Sugary diet is pretty terrible for the brain and body. Of course as i say this i have a soda.

Interesting Joe, thanks very much.
And fully agree with last paragraph. I believe there have been studies on laboratory animals that show lifespan is inversely correlated to the amount of food (i.e energy) the animal consumes. In other words, animals fed as much as they wanted died younger than animals that they literally starved. I've done hardcore Atkins myself a couple of times, and nowadays I keep carbs to a minimum without going crazy (like full Atkins). Never felt worse when I was overweight and never felt better now that I'm slim and trim and staying that way.

Yea see this is due to essence depletion. The problem is most vegetarians/vegans don't know how to plan their diet. I've experienced this at an accelerated rate using caffeine. Being that it makes me not want to eat and I'm just more sensitive to it, it throws me off kilter from my diet. When I go back to eating well the "essence deficiency" does get better. "Essence is stored by the kidneys" as TCM theory goes. A person can restore their essence by consuming things which restore that essence, usually with a low carb and high greens diet full of healthy raw fatty acids with the correct balance of omega 3s to 6. Small amounts of High grade low sugar fruits/acid fruits (does not mean acidifying) with/in salads or greens also will help to provide that extra kick in digestion and tonifying the adrenals, moving the lymph, etc. moderate amount of carbs from raw mung, lentil and adzuki bean sprouts will provide a sustained energy source as well as balancing sugar levels.
Again, and raw foods does this quickest. The Gabriel Cousens diet. The problem is most vegans are high carb, low fat, and high in omega 6s. They also don't watch their nutrient intake. It's full of high processed foods.
With time digestion of this diet will improve as your adrenals recover.

This diet is not at all deficient in protein. The sprouts and germinated nuts and seeds, and the high amount of greens (about 1-2 lbs a day or more if necessary) provide more than adequate amounts protein in the best form - free amino acids.

The brain needs sugar to function. Glucose is the only fuel brain cells use. You people who deprive your brain of sugar are diminishing its ability to operate properly.

Yes but what happens when your insulin response becomes weakened? The way to get it back to normal is to live on fats to rebuild your adrenals and strengthen your insulin response. That's why people who have diabetes cannot have things that have a high glycemic index (overt carbs), and further to be on the safe side even high sugar fruits because they can feed candida, as well as it can cause further problems when you're on a diet of higher fat. Ie the fats cause the sugars to not be taken up by the body because there are fats in the system keeping them from metabolizing properly.
After some time then you can increase the carbs. This diet I refer to is similar to a winter type diet. The time when your kidneys in TCM need to be taken care of and you are in "conservation/storing mode".
People who's insulin response has declined such that they don't secret enough insulin ie insulin "immunity" need to develop their "yin"/essence and rebuild their stores of the precursors to insulin.
At least, that's what I think, based off of what I've learned by experience.

BTW it does take some time, about a week or more for the body to get used to living off primarily fats. The body's digestion of fats will improve and at the same time the carbs one does get go straight to the nervous system where it's needed instead of going to the superficial levels of the body for superficial kinds of energy.
There is a school of thought that runs contrary to the 'official script' people have been taught. Ie the body can only burn carbs. In fact this other school believes that fats can be used as the primary source of energy for moderate exercise while for emergency modes whenever we need a "boost" of energy it will start to burn stored glycogen.

Fats are unhealthy. That much is clear. Fats make people obese and clog the arteries and heart attacks. The natural and best diet for human beings is fruits and vegetables which are high in carbohydrates. Fatty foods are the worst. Don't risk your health. Avoid fats. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

If you want to help your brain to function optimally eat plenty of foods high in sugars such as fruits and vegetables. Here is a link to learn about the benefits that sugar has on intelligence. http://www.fi.edu/learn/brain/carbs.html

lol fats are not unhealthy at all. Wow. It's not even fat that clogs arteries and gives heart attacks. it's the unhealthy combination of fats to carbs that does this.
Relying on fruit and carbs esp. in these days surely will not give you enough nutrients. Besides, reliable sources carbs are not always available all year round. Unless you're living in the tropics but in that area most likely the wild fruits will be supremely nutritious. I'm not even sure though that it can be done anyways. If fruits are to be eaten for one to get the most amount of nutrients it should be eaten right after it's picked from the tree, and the fruits we get from stores are depleted by much when they get to the stores. They're not even picked ripe.
Other sources of carbs like roots, have a lot of starch. It's best to eat the roots that can be eaten raw, but even so roots can have a high glycemic index (starch) and if you're body is not well it'll have trouble digesting these roots. Also much of these roots have anti-nutrients. As for the grains, and legumes same thing only, grains should be sprouted. If your lifestyle consists of cultivating these grains on a plantation, or attaining legumes from trees, then sure these are great for that lifestyle. If not, then your activity level and the type of should also be similar.
The whole diet thing is complex but not so complex actually if one just lived naturally and with what grows naturally/locally and can be cultivated properly.
