RE: Antidepressants Could Make Your Brain Bleed, Cause Hemorrhagic Strokes
So about twenty years after widespread use of SSRI's started we are seeing some major issues with prolonged use, to me this is the least bit surprising! I took Escitalopram (Lexapro) for about 4-5 months & between the toxic feeling, horrible side effects & the doctor doubling my dosage when i complained about side effects i realized i no longer wanted to play a part in pharmaceutical companies Guinea pig program!
Personally i have not met one person who i have really seen SSRI's help, many will claim they help & say stupid shit like "without antidepressants id be dead" well i hate to say it but the chemical they are using is nothing but a placebo they use as a crutch to find will power to endure life... It's all mind over matter...... "Take this magic pill, you will feel better" Yeah sure maybe for a while then it stops working.... I wonder why.... Maybe because people are not addressing the issues that are causing their issues & looking for a quick fix with a chemical!
f*ck SSRI's! f*ck the entire pharmaceutical industry & f*ck western medicine...

RE: Antidepressants Could Make Your Brain Bleed, Cause Hemorrhagic Strokes
I'm in the process of deciding if I should file a lawsuit, my arteries are f*cked after I came off the last round of depressants. I can't have coffee, can't have sugar (hard because I grew up sucking the shit back) and basically have become immobile after work because of the affects the drugs had on my heart. I was only on them for 3 months. I need to get up and start exercising soon, otherwise I'm gunna die young. It was a newer ssri, I don't even remember the name at the moment... As thats another thing thats been affected, my memory. If TSHTF the first place I am going is a corporate pharma building and doing some dirty work.

I am stuck between a hard and a rock place.
An anti-depressant has been a life-saver for me personally, one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.
But I know it is killing me physically everyday.
I haven't decided what is worse yet.
Considering I wouldn't mind dying......it's a toss-up. By my own hand, or by my own hand..... (sorry, dark humor)

Hate my life every day and still never give in to taking any of these stupid pills. I don't subscribe to the belief that emotions are bad. I'm mad when I'm mad and sad when I'm sad. Life has not been good the last few years, so I don't feel great. Deal with it.

Thank you. I keep trying to remember that because I've progressed from being actively suicidal to being passively suicidal and somehow think that's better. At least I'm progressing!
I'm going to bookmark that. I'd never heard of it before. I've been writing down all kinds of suggestions (some great ones giving by fellow Loppers) for when I wean myself off. The process of weaning myself off of what I'm taking right now is INSANE. I've done it once before....and it requires really breaking down the capsules and counting out hundreds of little balls. And probably more time off work. So it may not happen for awhile longer, since, well, you know.... But it is my goal to be free of the pharms....soon. Especially because my blood pressure has been scary high lately...oh and the chest pains I was telling you about.... last I checked my pulse was low, and I was calm, but the numbers still wouldn't come down. Eh.

I will do some research and see what else I can come up with for you. I do know St. Johns Wort is a good herb to take for depression.
I will also look for natural blood pressure cures.

Depression - Natural Alternatives
An extract from 'Food is better Medicine than Drugs'
by Patrick Holford and Jerome Burne, published by Piatkus Books Ltd, 2006
Chapter 10 - Beating Depression
'Natural alternatives - A truly scientific approach
There is a curious contradiction at the heart of the drug-based approach to depression. The treatment is based on correcting a biochemical imbalance in the brain. So you might think a scientific approach would be to check whether depressed patients actually had an imbalance and if so, exactly which neurotransmitters were low so they could be given a boost. But that is not what happens. Instead, the diagnosis of depression is based solely on a checklist of psychological symptoms, which doesn’t tell you anything about what is going on with brain or indeed body chemistry.

Please do! I traced back to when my blood pressure skyrocketed and they started holding me (wasn't the first time I went to the ER last summer or when I saw my doctor after that - my blood pressure was fine those times and my blood tests came back healthy)....but more recently (last ER trip and at the chem dep program). Then today it came to me. I cut out coffee a couple months ago. I was never a heavy drinker (one mug a day). So I looked up some studies and found this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/articl...-risk.html
Not sure how trustworthy those studies are (but the fact they are Swedish lends more credibility IMO, ha). So as of today, I'm trying coffee again....
Let me know if you find anything.... thank you, love.
