Well only if you notice this coming on the first day. Eat and chew on a garlic clove, gargle with real sea salt like Celtic sea salt. I would chew the garlic clove if I were you. Be ready to scream! If it doesn't hurt it not worth the cure.Jptdknpa

Any natural remedy for a sore throat?
Awhile back I woke up with a wicked burning soar throat and immediately thought I'd have to see a doctor. Then I remembered my Musinex-DM that I purchased on the advice of a doctor. Took two of them and an hour later the soar throat was just about gone. I was stunned. Never has anything knocked out a soar throat that quickly for me. Make sure it says 'DM'......

Work is already breathing down my neck for missing 2 days. I have a sore throat coupled with a sinus infection that I can't seem to kick. Really odd being that I have a excellent immune system.

Does anyone have a recipe/cure that will reduce the pain and swelling of my throat?

gargle with salt water
drink hot lemon and honey
eat garlic or take garlic oil pills

for nose use a saline wash
It is my experience that this is the best combo.

To help with your sinus's...buy local honey. not in the store, but right from the farm. The bees pollonate in that area and then your immune system will take on that pollen as "acceptable" and your sinus problem gets better! Cheer

My sister swears orange peel helps. I've never tried it. I'd vote for warm milk or other beverage, and if after work, hard spirits.

Oh, yikes! I forgot. Rescue Remedy. I don't believe in any of this New Age stuff, but, somehow, this works.

You might have GERD or acid reflux. Symptoms mimic each other such as sore throat, sinus problems. congestion...

Try some baking soda. If you are overweight and stressed that might be a red flag. See your GP or GI for a professional opinion.

Big glass of orange juice with 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper mixed in as well as you can. Then chug the orange juice. The OJ pretty much keeps the cayenne from burning your mouth. It will however catch your throat on fire. But the results have always been worth it imo...
For the sinus problem... treat the symptoms with a Neti Pot / Saline drip...

I forgot about zinc. It does work. You don't have to use lozengers. You can also get the tablets which will kick in after a while but you don't have to have the bad after taste in your mouth. Pills are cheeper also.
