Free actually thats not how manufacturers maximize production costs and efficiencies... makes it very difficult to manage, and in the long run costs more to run a program like that.

All the component in all chinese made electronics are cheap. any device with the same specs is gonna be about the same and use the same chips inside. any chip can fry when exposed to static electricity or even from regular use. warranty and return policy are more important when purchasing electronics.

I don't want to say I'm some sort of "expert" in electronics...but I did work there and I can tell you this:
Brand name items were much more likely to be returned than the not so familiar ones. During my short time there I had to do returns on a bunch of Sony TVs over the Sanyo brand flat screens (just an example).

I don't know if it's the products walmart decides to sell or what, but it does seem that their "brand" name electronics aren't the high class ones other stores like Sears or Best Buy would have.

If you are in the market for some electronics, I would be a bit wary, make sure it is the right model number, sometimes the lower quality items will have a model number that is close[i] to the better quality model. Just double check and make sure you check Consumer Reports.

We have her a local optician chain known as a price fighter (Hans Anders)
Conventitional companies let their lens polishing machines run for xxxxx hours and write them off. Anders let their machines run twice as long, resulting in lower quality lenses.

Same with the spectacleframes. Normallay they rot from my face within a year.
I bought a more expensive titaninium frame the last time, and it holds now 3 years without signs of wearing.

I have family working in the industry, so this is inside info.

Any "brand" name that would sell to them only offer their lowest level products, and so they avoid pissing off their mainstream dealers that carry the quality goods.

I can get the very same at a reg.electronics store,same brand and much better quality.

Just curious, what about Tiger Direct? I know they were bought out by some other company, but I have bought a few things from them, although no big buys like a computer or TV.

Buy the way. I flipping cannot stand to walk into a Sears or Best Buy. I can be pissed off in five seconds flat with their pressure sales.

Best Buy annoys the f*ck out of me. I think the "f*ck you and die" look I have on my face as I'm walking throughout the store keeps most of the floor staff away from me - but not the people working the registers. Those ones annoy me when they push their damn extended warranty on the stupidest f*cking items and after you tell them no, no, no... they look all pissed off.
