Just wondering. Is it the same quality product you'd buy from a regular electronics store? I've hear the Walmart stuff is pretty bad. True?

walmart has really strict return payment policies from their suppliers so generally you get pretty good stuff.

Any "brand" name that would sell to them only offer their lowest level products, and so they avoid pissing off their mainstream dealers that carry the quality goods.

worked for them and the rumors were that they were produced with lower quality components than what you would get at an electronics store

I cannot attest to the quality, but I do know from my experience working at Sears that they have their own specific model numbers so they do not have to worry about price matching. Many of the large companies do this. Based on the prices they charge, I personally would assume them to be of lower quality.

Again from my experience with yet another retailer, they know there are quality issues, but the profit tends to outweigh the loss from defective products. At least that is the way it was explained to me by my manager.

No, its all first quality stuff. Now they do carry some brands that suck moose cock like Emerson and Sanyo, but you get what you pay for.

Free actually thats not how manufacturers maximize production costs and efficiencies... makes it very difficult to manage, and in the long run costs more to run a program like that.

someone here remembers that article just recently about all electronics being made today are PURPOSELY made to NOT last.

some kind of evaluation chart of the components life is used and it resembles a BATHTUB.

the gyst was electronics are purposely made as cheaply as possible specifically so they will break right after the warranty ends.

Zactly, they have a very low end (that goes to places like Walmart) and a mid level line that goes to everyone else.

Back in the mid 90's all WalMarts RCA TV's were factory refurbs that didn't pass inspection off the line. I used to repair consumer electronics and the walmart stuff was a mess inside.

Then they werent refurbs. And the Walmart stuff would have been a "mess" due to consumer abuse and mishandling in the return process. RCA had a higher return rate than some other manufacturers, but if you got shit in the back door it wasnt their fault.
