Epoch ...catyclysm... Death.. Civillization remnants from the former Epoch rebuild... Epoch... catyclysm... Death...Civillization remnants from the former Epoch rebuild... repeat... Ad infinitum.

Qufu China Teotiouchan Giza ...etc. Pyramids all over Earth...Why?

Remnants.
proof?
megalithic yard unit of measurement that Ancient sites like stonehenge and memphis egypt and etc.. have a similitude of mathematical proportions.

Math doesn't lie. :-)

Good find! Be good.

Do you think mankind ever reached today's level of industrialization before?

How long did it take for the last two thousand feet of vertical erosion to take place in the grand canyon?

Our level of technology is infantile compared to what is possible. If you were to see a rock after the upcoming Epoch would you recognize its worth? Would your children? That rock made out of silica seems different. If somebody in your family were to hold onto that rock would your grandchildren believe that the rock used to be able to speak to people on the other side of Earth? Could your grandchildren really understand a ''cell phone''?

Ever reach our level? Mankind is infantile. So much more has is and will be capable. The book of enoch suggested Angels taught
mankind many things. The people of ''Dilmun'' taught the people of Ur. Lol ...Civillization sprang forth in archeaological terms overnight in Ur.... with animal husbandry Architectural engineering Astro physics Geometry and theology and much much more. Where did the people of the deserts learn all of these things when 99 per cent of their time would have been spoken for in terms of hunting gathering? ...Perhaps a previous Epoch had survivors who knew a few things. MAybe thats why Ancient structures seem advanced and perhaps humanity does not understand the value of a stone.
I hope this helps.
google OOPARTS for further ideaological research.

Be good. Again good find!

Since the bottom two thousand feet of the Canyon -- the inner gorge -- is mostly Precambrian schist (mostly Vishnu Schist formation) , a very long time indeed. Understand that most of the Canyon is Mesozoic limestone and sandstone, which erodes pretty quickly (the Cenozoic stuff is not even there any more).

Most geologists believe that it took between 5 and 7 million years (not that much in geological time) to erode the Canyon. I'm guessing that it was down to the last thousand feet after a couple of million years at most, and all the rest of the time was the Colorado River trying to get its schist together.

"On April 5, 1909, a front page story in the Arizona Gazette reported on an archaeological expedition in the heart of the Grand Canyon funded by the Smithsonian Institute, which had resulted in the discovery of Egyptian artifacts."

In the century since then, millions and millions of people have hiked the Canyon, as well as the hundreds of thousands who have flown through it via light plane and helicopter, and no one has ever seen anything remotely resembling what was reported.

True, but the story makes me want to go exploring any way.
Maybe find some old Indian ruins that haven't been looted yet. Would make for some great pictures!

I'd love to explore the Grand Canyon in serious depth. There are a vast number of places things could be hidden.

The main things about this story that come to mind are if you do a search for any of the people mentioned in the article, there is no record BUT this expedition. There is no record of this expedition EXCEPT with this one paper. There is a lot of myth built up about it, and sure the ancient Egyptians could have easily gone beyond the Nile valley, and by some accounts their traders did. There is even pretty recent evidence that they went way up the Nile to it's source, maybe even as far as modern day Malakal or Kampala. But, they tended to go as far as their boats would carry them and known trade routes. The Grand Canyon is a bit of a stretch.

It would. I have been to the Canyon at least a hundred times in the past 32 years, and even now, when I first see it spread out from Desert Overlook or Mather Point, tears come into my eyes. I've done a couple of rim-to-rim hikes (20 years and 40 pounds ago) done North and South Kaibab, North and South Bright Angel, Hermit, and a bunch of side trails. My head tells me I'm not gong to find anything new, but my heart says, "Keep trying!"

It should be on everyone's bucket list.
