I've only smoked pot once, and have not done any other drugs, so am not a proponent of imbibing in drugs...

but on a strictly pragmatic point of view, the drug induced self portraits were interesting on a scientific level.

and if anything, may act as a discouragement against taking certain drugs, because of the disturbing graphic illustrations.

That's how I took it too. Kinda like the "This is your brain...and this is your brain on drugs," ads, idea being to DISCOURAGE drug use.

But I don't use them, so what do I know?

I agree. Anyone who views these images and gets the idea that drugs are ok is not in touch with reality. And anyone who views these images and then goes ahead and tries one of these drugs, was wanting to do so anyway; the art had nothing to do with it.

Back in the day in college smoked my share of pot, once with some mushrooms that scared the shit outta me. End of story. Don't need drugs to enjoy life...real life.

That's not an artist, that's a dumb monkey. Silly monkeys, they just crave attention so much and want so much to be interesting and unique, but they just don't seem to understand how foolish and unoriginal they are.
