seeing as how i first red of 2012 in 1986.... and just reading about 2035 a couple or so years ago... i would say in the summer of 2013 there will be a list as long as the one you have compiled (well done btw) with different words... if you like, follow along with the new articles published at VeteransToday.com and this will give you an idea of what i am implying

Richard Noone, author of the 1997 book "5/5/2000 Ice: the Ultimate
Disaster." According to Noone, the Antarctic ice mass would be three
miles thick by May 5, 2000 — a date in which the planets would be
aligned in the heavens, somehow resulting in a global icy death (or at
least a lot of book sales). Perhaps global warming kept the ice age at bay.

The gist of your argument seems to be directed at people who are preparing for a specific doom event at some specific date. I know of no one who does that, but I do know of people who realize that bad things are coming and prepare for general emergencies.

This does not mean they are retarded, delusional or bipolar. Nor does it mean that they have structured their life as such that they are betting on these events occurring.

What preppers do is PREPARE for a POSSIBLE emergency. They do not believe the world is going to end because they obviously believe that whatever is coming can be survived.

And as a side question for you, do you think the Boy Scouts are delusional for teaching children about survival and preparedness?

But thank you for raising the question because you've allowed us to point out just how crazy it is to believe that nothing bad will ever happen and your comments about not preparing are like whistling while walking through a graveyard.
