Calm Down ... It's Not The End Of The World ... So It Ain't No Doom

Most fringe doomsterbations have been breathlessly predicted ad nauseum ―
some of them for years ― but they never come to pass. So in 2014, 2015, 2016 ...
when you're hanging out at LOP and there's still been no DOOM, no RAPTURE, no
TEOTW, no TEOTWAWKI, no COLLAPSE, no SHTF ... what is your prep for excuses?
The Doom was cancelled? The Doom was delayed? Better deluded than sorry?

• All things considered, Doomers are a pretty paranoid lot, and constantly
obsess about all kinds of improbable ways for the End of the World to be
Nigh. But it is highly illogical, and irrational (and sometimes fairly crazy)
to be paranoid about the highly improbable and the nearly impossible.

• Doomsterbations are primarily the result of basing one's life on primitive
belief systems that are ensconced not in reality (critical thinking) but in
fantasy (magical thinking). The origins are mainly mythology and religion:
primitive irrationalities which are basically all the same ― i.e., Woo Woo.

• It is no coincidence that an addiction to Woo most resembles an addiction
to drugs. Because just like addicts, Woos are far more fond of fantasy than
reality. And magical-thinkers will rationalize anything to guard their favorite
fantasies. "You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not
based on evidence, it is based on a deep seated need to believe." ~ Carl Sagan

• You know why so many primitive cultures echo the same Doom prophecies?
• Because it's all reruns: War, Pestilence, Famine, Flood, Death, EQs, Meteors.
• Each has happened before, and each will happen again ― disaster is normal.
• And any "prophecy" that merely predicts reruns of normalcy is hardly prophetic.
• As history has shown, periodic disaster is hardly the End of the World.
• Yes, ELEs can happen. But they are extremely rare, highly improbable events.
• And it is irrational to be paranoid about the highly improbable and the impossible.

There is no such thing as Doom. There have always been epic disasters,
both natural and man made, and there always will be. But there is no
impending End-of-the-World DOOM. That is simply a primitive mythology,
and yet another delusion of the Fundie Woo mind, just like God and the Devil,
Angels and Demons, and Heaven and Hell. All primitive mythological fantasies
created as a result of the quixotic human quest for an imaginary afterlife.

Schizotypal personalities include:
• Feelings that external events have an unusual personal meaning
• Unusual thinking, beliefs, perceptions or behavior
• Suspicious or paranoid ideas
• Extreme emotional responses
• Excessive, persistent social anxiety
• Feelings of impending doom

Religious Psychosis, Schizophrenia and Paranoia

Unfortunately, once you are profoundly paranoid, its grip will spread
to every corner of your life. This is clearly evidenced on the Internet
where many forums are devoted entirely to paranoid delusions and
their triggering by religious fanatics who are convinced not only that
the world is soon to end but that such an apocalypse is being brought
about intentionally by evil entities such as the Illuminati, the New World
Order, or even Alien Reptiles ― shape shifters from other planets, in
human form, who have infiltrated the highest levels of government.
