While some may say that the best way to boycott a television star is to not tune into their shows, a growing dissatisfaction with Kim Kardashian is prompting detractors to take it a step further. An online petition with close to 50,000 signatures is asking E! Online to remove Kim Kardashian and her entire clan from its programming schedule.

The petition was posted to GoPetition.com on Nov. 2, and can be seen here: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/no-m...hian.html. Supporting pages have popped up on Facebook. However, due to the popularity of the petition (or, perhaps, the anti-popularity of the Kardashians), the GoPetition.com site is down as of publication time. While interested parties will have to wait for it to be restored to add their signatures to the ever-increasing petition, the full text of the petition can be seen below:

"I am asking people to sign a petition that will be forwarded to E! Online to request that the show, Keeping up with the Kardashians, ends.

Please sign. However if you leave comments, no foul language, belittling etc should be used. Example, what you see on comment boards.

I need for everyone to post this link to Facebook.. Twitter.. Email. This will close November 30th. We need several thousand to be heard!

Also please forward this link. We need many signatures!"

While the petition does not claim this outright, much of the Kardashian backlash can be traced to Kim taking steps to end her much-hyped marriage after a mere 72 days, and the subsequent (and somewhat dubious) claims by her ex-publicist that the wedding was staged. Regardless, and in spite of the high ratings the shows enjoy, the petition shows the growing discontent among a certain segment of viewers with the Kardashians' public personas.
