Barak: IDF will act as needed to return quiet to the South By JPOST.COM STAFF10/24/2012 09:30The IDF will take all necessary action to return the quiet to the South, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Wednesday following a barrage of rockets that rained now on southern Israel overnight.

In an interview with Army Radio, the defense minister said that the IDF was exploring all options in search of a solution to silence the escalation. However, indicated that a full-scale military operation was unlikely at this time.

Barak also dismissed the idea of talking to Hamas, saying that it is an enemy organization that Israel cannot talk to.

Four homes in the Eshkol district and one in the Ashkelon coastal region took direct hits as some 40 Grad and Qassam missiles slammed into Israeli locations around the Gaza Strip early Wednesday. Iron Dome intercepted four Grad missiles aimed at Ashkelon the town. Two seriously injured Thai farm workers were lifted by IDF helicopter to hospital. A number of shock victims were treated on the spot. Heavy damage was caused to property and the power grid.
Smoke and sounds of explosions were also heard in Gaza City from an Israeli Air Force raid that was launched after 30 rockets hit Israel. The air strikes continued in the northern part of the enclave against rocket teams. I
It was Israel’s first attack on Gaza City in many months after taking barrages of more than 60 missiles and mortar rounds since Tuesday night.
Tuesday night, two Hamas operatives were killed and five injured in Israeli air strikes after several rounds of Palestinian rocket and mortar attacks on Israeli locations that day. An IDF company commander was seriously injured by a bombing device on the Gaza border fence Tuesday morning.
People living within rocket range of the Gaza Strip are advised to stay close to shelters Wednesday. Eshkol district and Ashkelon coastal region schools are closed.

So the Qatari Emir has just been to Gaza to break the illegal blockade and the U.S. is about to go to elections and this happens.

Some rockets pieces supposedly fired into Israel have been found to have Israeli markers on them and the famous photos of Israeli soldiers dressed up as Hamas militants (with a star of david or IDF issued boots) makes me wonder who is actually firing these rockets at a time when it only benefits Israel?
