Then maybe it belongs on an informative TV show and not a comedy show?

You think SNL is funny?

I didn't say it was funny.

I said it was a comedy show.

sweet Okay Lorne, you can go on and keep thinking your show is a "comedy" show. nelson

You are right. Because SNL isn't funny and that video isn't funny, it must be a CONSPIRACY that they no longer air it on the reruns (which are usually edited down to an hour anyway, right?)

Truth is dangerous for megacorp.
But it can be bought and locked away.

Great video satire expose mid 70's style.

It reveals how a powerful imprinted meme: the Schoolhouse Rock morning cartoon infomercials can be turned around, made powerful with truth, and sent back into the face of the omnipresent engineers of social media.
I imagine they recoiled in bitter horror and haven't quite recovered until this quiet unceremonious burial.

Implying that they embraced it in sweet love.
That's why it is being removed from all subsequent airings of the Saturday Night Live episode where it originally appeared?

The SNL reruns are ALL edited down.

I don't hear you screaming CONSPIRACY because some David Spade sketch got cut out of reruns.

You're right. It's just a coincidence. Pure happenstance. Nothing to see here.

The content of the banned segment is part political protest part corporate expose. When political speech is censored, it should raise concern among those that would like to see freedom advance, not decline.
If a controversial or political skit by David Spade was redacted from all releases or replays of a certain episode, I think there would be concern also.

So, the censorship of speech is only important if it is 'political' or 'controversial'?

A quick google search will find this video in numerous sources.

I have seen nothing that suggests or indicates that Michaels or NBC have done anything to suppress the distribution of this video via the internet.

Its a Jew-opoly would be more accurate.

No wonder its banned - they tell the truth for once! (or at least as close to it as can be expected from them)

They're influence is limited to the NBC network and its affiliates. They can't police the entire interweb. Besides, maybe they just don't give a shit.

The 1998 Robert Smigel animated short film "Conspiracy Theory Rock", part of a March 1998 "TV Funhouse" segment, has been removed from all subsequent airings of the Saturday Night Live episode where it originally appeared. (Lorne) Michaels claimed the edit was done because it "wasn't funny". The film is a scathing critique of corporate media ownership, including NBC's ownership by General Electric/Westinghouse.
