They're Demons!
I'm not saying it's aliens, but it's aliens.

Well, they're going to be what they are no matter what I think...

...but, if you're going to put me on the spot...

...I'll go...interdimensional alien-human-hybrid, or alien in disguise...

...I'll say that could be the same thing as: demon, djinn, faerie, vampire, etc...

Funny that you mention vampires in there.
Note that I loath the modern notion of the vampire, but some myths have origins in something.
One of the supposed vampires' traits is that they will not come in your home without your permission/invitations.
Funny how in so many of this BYK stories, that trait is present too.

Indeed, that along with their eyes, seem to be the defining characteristics of these things...

Oh, sorry for making you feel like you were on the spot!

It seems that people get different impressions of what they are, so that is why I asked.

Based on the fight or flight sense you had then I guess you determined they were malevolent.

Does that feeling come to people simply because their eyes are black? To me this suggests they are soulless since the windows are they eyes to the soul.

What if their eyes were all white?

If my questions seem silly, my apologies, I just woke up a little while ago, and haven't finished my coffee yet.

I have two comments on this topic:

1) Do not buy the Book The Black Eyed Children--unless you enjoy reading the same account over and over again....

2) I encountered two BEK's in NJ's mysterious Pine Barrens on a camping trip in the early to mid 90's. We had a campsite with three tents, 6 people, and a tarp-covered common area (it was raining). It was a cool fall evening with light rain. It was probably about two in the morning when we first saw them. We were drinking Tequila and singing the song Tequila when we noticed them: Two kids, one about 12 the other about 10. Standing just outside the tarp's protection. They were just there. No one saw them come up. There was something off about them. I talked to them, they were evasive. They wanted to get under the tarp. They claimed to be local, but didn't know anything about the local schools or area. They evaded questions about their parents. Then I noticed two things about them: 1) They weren't getting wet, 2) They had black eyes. All of us were hinked by them. I told them it was late and they should return to their parents. They hung around but we ignored them and returned to our Tequila. And when we looked back they were gone. Each of us then disclosed the fight or flight responses we had...

...this would be an odd thing...as most BEK sightings are just by one or two people...

I went to school with twin boysAvery and Erc and they had black eys like was described in the op,they were perfectly normal other than the Black Eyes....knda creepy looking tho.

yes, there is a medical problem that can result in black eyes...it is rare, but can happen...though I doubt that explains all cases of BEK encounters...

I wondered who keeps bringing up this black eyed kids carp.there is somebody somewhere with an agenda.
Are you being racist? wheres the agenda on blue eyed kids.what about black eyed adults.why pick on kids?
I personally think anybody who brings this subject up is a total moran and should volunteer for intrusive medical experiments.

Warning: your low iq is showing.

There alot of stories on black eyed adults as well.

I could be wrong but from my traditions and learning these resemble a lesser manitou or malevolent trickster spirit.

My run in with this happened in NM just after I got back from the service.

I was doing EMT work on the weekends and my partner and I had responded to a call at a nursing home. No rush as the patient had passed some time before and we were just moving him from the nursing home to the morgue inside of the local hospital. We picked up the person and transported him with no problems but as we were exiting the hospital we encountered two men who gave both my partner and I the creeps.

One of them started talking about needing to get a ride and climbing into the ambulance with us but broke off and just stared at us for a while. Then without saying a word just turned and walked away.

Talking about how weird that was my partner realized that they both had black eyes and gave us the chills. To this day I'm not sure why they just walked away instead of continuing to harass us as the stories mention.

Refering to my thread on the Constitution which contains links to the Constitution and links to Supreme Court decisions regarding the Constitution I get this reply:

The body was already in the morgue. We had exited the building and were heading to the ambulance to prep for our next call when we were approached.
