That sounds like a bunch of bullshit societal programming if you ask me. Motherfuckers be hungry, shit.

If I was the employee I would have given that guy a case of candy bars out the back and told him to have a nice day.

Scream1

No it's a very old rule, and necessary for civilization to exist, if you give him a box of candy bars today he will be back with a friend tomorrow, if you fail to give him and his friend two boxes of candy they will take because you have made them feel entitled to it, if you are so set on helping him, common sense would be to give him five bucks out of your pocket rather than risking your job stealing from your boss. I'm not sure how you see "a bunch of bullshit societal programming" in this.

It's a good point but if I'm a 7-Eleven employee I'm almost guaranteed to not give a shit about any of it. I wouldn't even be making enough money to feed myself. I'm probably stealing off of the store just to get a meal in a day. And I'm supposed to worry about risking my job? The job isn't even valuable to me. I've probably been pining over robbing the owner for weeks because of starvation brought on by the extremely low wages.

Nice sense of entitlement. Rip off someone because you don't agree about the rate of pay, but you still take the job anyway?
This is the reason society is going to hell. People should do the best they can with what ever job they take and EARN their way to a better life. Have a HUGE sense of self entitlement is in no way the same as working for what you get.
Ethics, try it.

Racism is NOT a crime.

No but it's still pretty pathetic.

Pathetic is being afraid of being white. Bowing down to any other race when in their lands you are treated as less than human for not being one of them.

Pretty much all it comes down to. The slap on the wrist for petty crime does nothing to instill a sense of justice and just exasperates the problem by feeding the idea that "unless you get caught, it's okay."

So let's be barbaric. Good solution.

If I had stole the candy or not, I'd have laid every single one of those curry motherfuckers out.

Seems to me that in America ethics make you poor. Those at the top of the pile steal and extort millions, partly by paying slave wages. Every thing about the society says that exploiting others is the way to success. Kids see that all the way growing up - part of them having a sense of entitlement. The American success ethic is to go for what you want, regardless of the impact on the next person. Change that and the crime rate will go down.

Steal a chocolate bar and your liable for attack. Steal millions and you get a multimillion dollar hand shake.
