I have some friends and friends-of-friends who are thin-skinned PC types and I remind them all the time that they are the only ones responsible for how they feel. An unfortunate aspect of feminist theory appears to involve the rest of the world adjusting to them, not the other way round.
Like 'society' should change its attitudes towards weight rather than, well, trying to lose a few or accepting that people judge others about such things and deciding not to let it bother you.
