Tuna carry Fukushima radiation to California

Talked to my brother the biologist tonight. He has a masters, and looks like he is going to be accepted in a PhD program in Blacksburg, VA, only four hours from me! We talked about many things. Conversation started with me reading him that funny "i went to your website and its obviously your a foggot" conversation that got posted here. Got lots of laughs from that!

The phone call moved on to Fukushima, and my brother, who does know more about science than I do, seems to think Fukushima is in cold shutdown, and not a huge problem anymore. I think I might disagree with that a bit, but he did caution me against eating tuna. Said I might as well just chew on some mercury, for one thing, and that it is picking up radiation as well.

I hope he's right, but of course, he's in a mainstream scientific community, and they tend to look at things like Fukushima conservatively. I asked him if he thought it could be as bad as Chernobyl, and he says no.

Time will tell.

any amount of radiation is toxic. Why do you want to compare to Chernobyl? different concept here. more toxic chemicals at Fukushima higher concentrations and more release.
Your brother is right this is NOT Chernobyl.
WELCOME to Fukushima!!!
your lucky lifetime. I experienced both and this one is different and far worse because, WE are in a HUGE economic breakdown, so, all that said Fukushima is leaking little bits as they feel necessary to share because their is a BANK that is trying to keep the STATUS in the GREEN get it?
