Since the nice dip in silver, i plan on stocking up on silver.... Would just like to find a nice cheap place that isn't selling it to much over spot value... Current price is 34.93

RE: Cheapest Place to Buy Silver 1ounce Coin/Bullion
I'm not sure since I haven't shopped around a lot, but Kitco bars weren't that much over spot, from what I recall.

The smallest one they have right now is 100 ounce for $3670

https://online.kitco.com/bullion/completelist_USD.html

Maybe some 10 oz or 1 oz will become available if the slide in silver continues.

I have been researching information to answer your very question for myself and what I have come to gather is your going to pay anywhere from between $1.8 to $2.5 above spot price on average at the minimum no matter where you purchase it unless you belong to some club, or organization that sells to its members at spot price. That is not necessarily the way to go because even then you have to pay for membership.

In any event you will not want to be paying more than 7% above the spot price no matter what unless the coins have numismatic collectors value.

Add the cost of shipping and delivery and you have to factor that in which leads me to the conclusion that in most cases your probably better off buying from a local broker where you can physically just go and get what you want.

If you want to avoid paying extra for numismatic collectors value then you will want to concentrate on what are termed "ROUNDS" which are distinctly different from
Government minted coins such as the Silver Eagle.

Another thing I read highly suggested if your going just for the bullion silver aspect of the investment you may want to consider the 1/2 oz rounds as they are actually worth a little more because if you do want to use them to trade, barter, or buy something it will be much easier to work with since they will actually be a lower denomination. They have the intrinsically added value of versatility.

Easier to make change with.

APMEX rounds are .999 fine silver and supposedly sell for $0.79 over spot at APMEX’s Web site according to the article I posted below, but I have not verified that yet.

Hello
for investment cheaply, buy Bars instead of coins, its all the same as far as metal content goes ,less the artwork ,cheaper price ,its just a choice.
I ran a silver business back in the 1980;s buying scrap X-ray film from medical places and also scrap Litho film from printing companies ,and I will tell you for a fact Silver is much better and easier to deal with than Gold! its also a very beautiful metal in its pure .999 form!.
You really cant see silver in old coins and sterling items. Buy a real piece of .999 and check it out man,its beautiful.
As far as prices, everyone in the metal business gets a chunk of profits. If you want the real thing and only to stash away and not admire, then you can get what they call "shot" silver, its the same silver before they cast it into coins, bars, ingots and the like.
They make silver shot (looks like BB's) by pouring molten .999 into large containers of water,it forms small balls of pure .999 ,not much to look at but same value and a bit cheaper! its mostly sold to industrial companies that fabricate items from it an as such is cheaper but actually anything with any Silver content can be an investment but certified .999 coins and bars are the most convenient form and easiest to cash out if needed, to handle and store the actual metal, because other forms will have to be assayed for Silver content first.
