You're both wrong, it's the way cocaine works that leads to tissue necrosis. Cocaine is a vasoconstrictor, stopping blood flow to the areas it contacts. Repeated cocaine use kills tissue by constantly restricting blood flow in the sinus and nasal passages, the tissue dies from having bood flow shut off repeatedly. Whatever chemicals and solvents are used to produce the cocaine are mostly washed out and removed leaving only trace amounts. That is not the main reason why cocaine abuse destroys your sinus, palate cartilage and nasal passages.
