RE: Computer problem
Well, I installed and ran REVO. It removed leftover "orphan" files, programs etc. etc.
I installed Avast Antivirus.
Now Hello Kitty (my computer) is running as good as new, and fast as a cheetah (almost)

Yeah, I've heard a lot of good things about Mint.

I've been using Ubuntu for a long time now, though I won't be upgrading to 12.04.

Unless you're a gamer or a Photoshop expert, you really don't need the headache of MicroSux. Linux has a built in firewall. You don't need anti-virus or anything else.
Linux security upgrades/updates are the best in the world...no waiting 3-6 months just to get a fix. There are a multitude of forums online to get help if needed.

I got fed up with the proprietary software game a long time ago and I've never looked back.

I can't impress enough on current MS users to get away from that funky antiquated software...

I went from Ubuntu to Mint. Mint is very polished and has all of the codecs native.

And the Cinnamon session beats the hell out of Gnome3/Unity IMO.

Mint 13 with Mate is reaaally good. I waited with 10.04 due to the shitty gnome 3 environment but cinnamon / MATE are great. I prefer mate since it works well with compiz fusion for nice desktop effects. Good old school feel with new tech.

Yes, I should give MATE credit where credit is due. Cinnamon is still relatively new and some say buggy (it's been good for me though), but MATE, I believe is the true fork since GNOME decided to be a smartphone/tablet interface.

Cheers
