All the top brass will be euphoric at the money thrown their way to start rebuilding things.

Fights will silently break out over who gets to hire who, for kick backs later on down the road. Political favors I think they call it.

This school doesn't stand a chance against money hungry progressive groups.

In this day and age the act of having money is directly equivalent to spending it.

Done.

This thread inspires me. I am always impressed when people stand up to fight for something important, even if it is small. Good luck.
I do agree with the previous poster that said this school, without enough people fighting back, does not have a chance.

Thank you Heartflowers You have no idea how much this subject frustrates me. Many people in my community sat back and watched as they demolished nearly all of the historical buildings over the past 20 years due to selfish, political, greed driven motives. This is the final straw for many people in my community.

Who says a tornado was just a bad thing. Good is coming out of it, and the local elected officials are squirming in their seats because now all eyes are on their bullshit.

I signed your petition. It reminds me of the awful way in which the local parks and buildings I grew up around got trashed when they carelessly built a freeway. True, it is inconvenient to go too far with this sort of thing. But just the same, there are loads of examples where it is easy to preserve or improve the local scenery, culture and heritage, and its not done out of sheer recklessness, or worse, out of typical over-the-top corruption.

My name is Jessica Newell...We found documentation that stated Eleanor Roosevelt visited our school in 1936. At that time the WPA was showing a large display of their programs in the Harrisburg gymnasium. Mrs. Roosevelt gave a speech in our gym that day. In addition, pilot Amelia Earhart spoke at our school by invitation of the business department that same year. In 1938, the WPA built an addition to our school in honor of teacher Bess Pemberton.

A lot of 'famous' people have visited a lot of places. Out with the old, in with the new. I don't think saving the school is a good idea.
