Gary Rosheisen tried to teach his cat to dial 911 years before 2005, but he couldn't be sure it actually worked. That is, until he fell out of his wheelchair that December. Police were stunned when they responded to a 911 call with silence on the line to find a tabby cat named Tommy sitting by the phone and his owner on the floor unable to move.

Peanut Butter Is Simply Irresistible

In July of 2010, a bear managed to get a car door open. He climbed inside after the peanut butter sandwich that was in the car. The door fell shut behind him. Then he panicked. His thrashing put the car into neutral, and the bear took a little joy ride while he ate the sandwich before crashing into some trees. How did he get out? He beeped the horn! Police tied a string to the handle and opened the car door. The bear got up and wandered off into the woods.
