What are some of your guys' favorite deep web links? I am interested in finding up to date political, activist and international type of stuff. I am not in it for the illegal drug and porn stuff either. I am interested in the good side of the deep web, if that helps at all...

The Hidden Wiki is great and all... Just feel like I am missing something and am looking for some guidance. If the deep web is that much bigger than the surface web, I am absolutely missing some good stuff Cheer

i think this is a link to the tordir. more interesting stuff, try any .onion links at your own risk though h

It is best to have a dedicated safe computer just for that. Unless you realy know what you are doing that is.

If you surf the Deep Web, you're gonna have a bad time.

I don't think its by chance the Deep web is currently trending in a lot of forums, the same overly helpful advice, the same exciting and mysterious descriptions of a wonderful magical place where all the cool kids hang out.

The replies are normally all the same, oh thanks I didn't realize there was a hidden web, how does this work again? followed by "I finally got it working, thanks random stranger from the internet who baby sat me through the whole instalation patiently and never once lol'd at my inept set-up questions" followed by "Well I finally got tor working but wish I hadn't bothered because the deep web is full of evil, virus and hackers and takes ages to load"

I have a suspicion and its one I've had for a while, I think the deep web is there to corrupt the individual or infect their computer with something, the access nodes can be traced and anyone using tor has no idea what data their computer has running through it. Now I'm NO tech geek as the guy who was able to find out what music I was playing during a guntard debate can attest to.

I've never explored the deep web but from what I've heard, it doesn't seem like a place I want or need to go to, I just find it suspicious that its getting a lot of promotion around the regular web at the moment.

No offence, just my 2 cents

The deep web is for the dreggs of society. There is no useful information there. If you want to see something useful, you won't. Most useful information government sites and databases are internal only and you wont' access them from a normal computer.

It's like Anonymous supposedly hacking government websites. It's laughable. You can't access the good stuff from the regular web. You need a government terminal.

My advice? I think you're right. The so called deep web is very dangerous and best avoided.

Also this is the absolute best, safest software to use.
Download the zip and unzip it onto a USB mem stick and boot the stick (READ README FILE) ,run the bat file and follow instructions,IT'S TOTALLY ENCRYPTED . It don't use your hard drive! it's a complete OS on a stick just for TOR ! and you can save stuff!
OR download the ISO file and burn it to a dvd and boot it perfect, just cant save any weird stuff on dvd.

discussion of deep web here is fine, but please don't post links for it. Many the mods can not open or view without the right "way". If we can't look at what is posted then we can't insure the safety to the board. Nothing against it, but THAT is the official rule.
Thanks
