They haven't offered to buy my supplies yet. chuckle

Lmao I feel the same way.. I have a Hornady Progressive press.. But I have been shooting Mostly 22 for the past year...

chuckle Funny 22 is what I have been shooting a lot.

But if my house ever catches fire, get to a safe distance. Lmao

chuckle The wifey got kinda pissy about that as well. So I've got a shed with all my components (airtight/watgertight storage) and reloading equip set up there. Sort of a home away from home. But yeah, I've been shooting enough .22LR in the recent past that I'd have no problem using it for wild turkey (the winged variety!).

Funny thing is my neighbor expressed the same concern when I told him that I have a few rounds. I assured him that they were laying on their side pointing away from his house.

Just because I can live in Mexico does not take away the right to my opinion of America, I’m still an American.

I knew a lady having a "divorce yard sale". She sold me a box full of those plastic MTM ammo boxes for $1 apiece. So if that were to happen, they'll go straight to ground (yeah, right).

RE: Disarming America: Homeland Security Buys Up Ammo Supplies
being from somewhere where guns aren't really the norm, i was excited the first time my friend took me out with his friends to shoot guns at a gun range place. after the first few times i really started to get into things. and after some more times, i really wanted to learn more and really get into all kinds of aspects of shooting guns, but then something happened.

Something so shocking to me that it really made me think about shooting guns as a hobby. It was my turn to foot the bill for the days trip with friends. chuckle holy crap, it was expensive. 6 people shooting for all day. i don't own any guns and use my friends, and each time we go out we all meet at gun store to by the ammo in morning and then go to range and shoot. at the shooting place it is set up you bring your own stuff and pay for time and targets.

after awhile you start noticing people who spend a lot money on stuff that goes beyond the guns too. the high dollar camo outfits, the expensive glasses, holsters that cost a fortune, all kinds of stuff. and these people really like to come up to you and show off their stuff.

the biggest thing i learned was you can't walk into a gun store and say i need to buy about 2 hours worth of bullets. it seems funny to say that, but it's true. my friend explained to me that if you're not someone who is part of that culture, owning guns and shooting them as what he called a professional hobby, it's like pulling teeth to get someone to understand that the money you spend buying ammo in the long run is really small compared to the fun and enjoyment out of it and the learning. and what i think is really expensive hasn't seen anything yet. since i like to play music in my spare time, he compares it to me buying guitar strings or new drumsticks when i already own a hundred pair i haven't touched yet. ammo cost if only for an hour of shooting or for all day is just a part of the overall experience of gun ownership, not just a main component of using a gun and that's where you leave it.

The Department Of Homeland Security Is Buying 450 Million New Bullets

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office is getting an "indefinite delivery" of an "indefinite quantity" of .40 caliber ammunition from defense contractor ATK.

U.S. agents will receive a maximum of 450 million rounds over five years, according to a press release on the deal.

The high performance HST bullets are designed for law enforcement and ATK says they offer "optimum penetration for terminal performance."

This refers to the the bullet's hollow-point tip that passes through barriers and expands for a bigger impact without the rest of the bullet getting warped out of shape: "this bullet holds its jacket in the toughest conditions."

We've also learned that the Department has an open bid for a stockpile of rifle ammo. Listed on the federal business opportunities network, they're looking for up to 175 million rounds of .223 caliber ammo to be exact. The .223 is almost exactly the same round used by NATO forces, the 5.56 x 45mm.

The deadline for earlier this month was extended because the right contractor just hadn't come along.

Looks like the Department of Homeland Security means business.

If you're an American, you should own a gun. Period.

It's our cultural heritage and our the men who laid down all they had to start this thing would probably be disappointed in you if you didn't own one.

I think the right to defend oneself by force of arms is a basic Human Right not only for Americans.

Everyone should own a gun so tyrants never get a foothold in the world again.
