I saw a black owl during the day this year. Research says both, good and bad...just depends on what you wanna believe. I'll go with health, wealth, and God's love.

Big, black, beautiful. Walked like a penguin...waddle, waddle.

Having even a feather of an owl is a felony.

An owl flew into a car and it was killed.
The people took it to an undisclosed area and buried it,
knowing if caught with it...jail time.

Peace

We have a Big Owl who recently appeared out in a tree over looking my home. For the past few nights the Owl has been hooting loudly almost non stop. I mentioned it in passing while visiting my mother today and she told me they are considered by some to be a harbinger of doom. I had not heard that before so I did a quick search and there are numerous articles along that line.

Has anyone here heard about that or had a bad experience after having an Owl around?

No. It's a blessing. Like ravens.
maligned creatures to say the least.
you can tell a lot about someone by their fears and superstitions.

I think owls are beautiful and I see them so rarely that it always feels very special to see one in Nature.

If anything, I would see them as a good omen, as I've always been having a fantastic day when I've seen one. Or perhaps I look back on those days and they just seem more fantastic for having seen an owl.

Owls are way cool. My advice is to disbelieve superstition, especially the kind that causes losers (not including you OP) to kill the objects of their superstition as happens all the time with those afraid of owls.

We have a big white one in our neighborhood too. Love to watch him glide by at night

I knew a san carlos apache, who had learned from a son of geronimo, how to make an owl stop hooting.
I saw him do it, it was amazing.

I love HATERS, they prove what I'm doing is RIGHT!

I knew a white fellow married to a San Carlos Apache and one year he made Christmas orniments from gourds and owl feathers.
He gave them to all the staff at the San Carlos hospital, but.... when folks figgered out that the feathers were OWL FEATHERS(!) they nearly ran him off of the rez.

I don't know why he did what he did... he KNEW that the owls were a very very bad omen to them.

Native Americans and traditional Hispanics.... probably because they are part Native American.... see owls as a very bad omen. My Zuni friend said he thinks it came from the visitors from Asia long ago.
I think that it hails back to the same source of Moloch the god Middle Easterners burned babies alive for.
Notice that the Bohemian Grove has an owl.
Also note that the chair and stage arrangement that Joel Olsteen uses inside his giant church is the in the form of Moloch.
Joel is squinty eyed and doesn't even look like an owl!!

By the way... did your San Carlos friend like to gut people?
The ones I knew or knew of liked to gut yuh.
You just hoped that if they gutted yuh they did AFTER they killed yuh.... before really sucks.

"Till the mid 90s women were routinely beaten to death and the men routinely got no trouble for it... nada.. nothing!
Hell.... they still routinely kill their women, but now sometimes they get into some trouble for it.... but not always.

It usually depends on where they land

and what they fly away with

I think at times GOD uses birds to alert us to one thing or other.

Owls are among the very most cool birds.

Haven't read this entire thread,
but, I believe
owls are a good luck omen.

When I was in Hawaii
I'd see a barred owl every day.

I saw one two weeks ago, here in Vermont,
being harassed by a crow.

The first in almost twenty years.

Back in 1983 I saw a Great Grey,
while riding in my late Dad's truck.

Almost three feet tall.

It was awesome!!

RE: Do you believe Owls are a bad luck omen?
Back in 1999, here on the hilltop,
middle of winter,
I looked out the window just after waking up,
and saw the blue feathers of a bluejay
spread out over the snow under the apple tree
in my backyard
where I had my bird feeders hung.

My late neighbor, Red,
very astute oldtimer,
told me it was probably the work of an owl.

Shredded that poor bluejay.

I love owls too. It's a shame the idiot bohemian club/illuminati took it as a mascot. They should have taken the vulture, as Ben Franklin suggested.

The owl is representative of lilith. The don't actually worship the owl version of molech.

Do I hate owls? No. Animals and insects don't bother me. Are they a bad omen? Uh...people have associated them with aliens for some reason; if you believe in that maybe it's some sort of latent (placed) memory. Where I live it's crickets that are associated with them; if the crickets stop "chirping" there's a ufo in the area.

RE: Do you believe Owls are a bad luck omen?
There is No Specific Owl Omen in and of itself. IOW you can;t just say an Owl is a Harbinger of So and So. It depends on circumstances and other elements as to the meaning. It could simply be an Owl Hooting in a tree, they are known to do that sort of thing.
The Omens are dependent on several Factors. You can;t think every time you see or hear an owl it's an omen, especially if you happen to have one living where you do hanging around. Really, I have 2 Black Cats. If Every time one of them crossed my path someone died the world would be a more pleasant place but so far it hasn't happened, yet.
