Good Post.. There is a lot of Smoke and Mirrors that the rich use to hide their income.. Remember GE paid no Income tax...Since the Buffet rule was brought to show how unfair the tax code is (Remember the income tax goes for nothing more than the Interest on the Federal Debt)..And (the income tax was started as a20e percent tax on the richest one percent) why not just go to a consumption tax?? When you spend is when you get taxed.. Spend more more tax..(You would get your entire paycheck each week.. No taxes taken off)

This is the simplest and fairest way to tax. No income tax. Sales tax only. Tax percentage goes up with amount of purchase, "luxury items" will be taxed the highest.

No sales tax to resold goods of any kinds--tax only ONCE!S977

They already have a loop hole.. Top Earners Can Find Ways Around Buffett Rule The highest-earning U.S. households have ways to escape President Barack Obama’s Buffett rule with tax-planning techniques that would limit their liability and undermine the proposal’s purpose.

Those affected taxpayers -- the fewer than 0.5 percent of Americans with annual incomes exceeding $1 million and tax rates of less than 30 percent -- could take advantage of tax-free investments such as municipal bonds to escape the Buffett rule’s bite. They also could time asset sales for maximum tax benefits, engage in transactions that don’t result in taxable income and make charitable contributions that yield deductions.

RE: Do you support the Buffet rule?
I support the Buffett rule.

Mitt Romney admitted to paying about 15% in incomes taxes last year.

I paid close to 30% and so did every other working stiff because the majority of our income comes from a paycheck that is taxed differently from investments.

So to take it a step further. I think the income tax, should be the same as the capital gains tax rate. That way, bazzilionaires can't get away with what they are currently getting away with.

I also think it's wrong that companies like GE made billions in profit last year and paid ZERO in federal income taxes. Yet, I had to pay money out of my own pocket in federal income taxes.

I just want the same deal that the millionaires and corporations get. If they want to keep paying 15%, that's fine. Just let me in on the game.

Still unrecognised by most Western-based international market traders is the significant fact that eighty five percent of the total global gold inventory is held off-market in Asia. Soon this gold is going to be brought on-market through the China South Rare and Precious Metal Exchange. Various figures are cited in connection with the potential value of this 85% gold injection.

The lowest valuation is $371 trillion. The gold is held in depositories throughout Asia reported to involve between 125 and 172 separate locations. Among the largest are said to be those in Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. Will Asia's financial firework display be the Western cabal's execution bonfire?

RE: Do you support the Buffet rule?
duh no, dont you guys understand what is going on with the fed? They dont want anyone to be rich besides them. In fact, they would love it if we were all paycheck to paycheck, thinking the system allows us to escape that.

this bufet rule thing is simply a way to extract the wealth out of the useful idiots who got wealthy before one of them wakes up.

A rebellious grand jury uprising would actually be fairly cheap to someone with a 100 or so million dollars, but they are usually the kind of person who thinks they are doing the right thing by not upsetting the status quo.

If so can I ask why? First before you answer please consider the Buffet rule will not really affect the ultra wealthy like Buffet. It is really smoke and mirror's the ultra wealthy hide their income in Tax Exempt Charitable Foundations, in fact Buffet keep's his Billion's in Bill Gates Foundation.

Therefore why would anyone support the Buffet rule? Even if you are for higher taxes on the ultra wealthy wouldn't you be demanding Obama close the tax loopholes? If those loopholes were closed the mega rich would be paying a lot more money then they would under the Buffet rule.

In reality the Buffet rule helps the mega wealthy cut down on competition since they have had a long time to develop their wealth smoke and mirror's that's what the Buffet rule really is.

No no no...they make all their "income" from stock dividends not actual salary. No one has said shit about raising the long term capital gains tax or even bumping the period for long term from 1 year to say 5. At this point it's all perpetual for those guys meaning they can rotate and sell stock without any worrying about it being long term capital gains vs. short term (taxed at ordinary income rates).

This is one of those games that they play. You'd say "how much money can you make off of stock?"...I'd say: "A hell of a lot" because they have a ton of shares. Plus those dividends are probably mostly "qualified" because they hang onto them for a while, which shares the 15% cap.

The raise in income tax won't affect most of these fat cats; they could raise it to 99% and they'd still pay around 15% on their investment income. All raising the "rich" marginal tax rates does is dinging the upper-middle class income earners like doctors and high end lawyers. Not that I care about those guys but it will have no effect on the so called 1%.

"Buffet Rule" is a Marxist envy-powered psy-op, promoted by the evil and believed by the stupid, and only capable of achieving traction in a financially illiterate populace.

Income tax != capital gains tax.
