No. I do not support it. Here's why:

Unless you are in an hourly-wage job, and sometimes even then, there are a LOT of loopholes through which you can legally get out of some of your tax liability.

Getting 15% of a multi-million dollar income is way better than giving a tax refund to 150,000,000 Americans.

People with more money tend spend more money. If I can take 10% of my tax burden away, that means I waltz down to the dealership and take possession of that lightly used S63 instead of putting it off, giving tons of money in taxes, service, tires and lots of gasoline.


That being said, I think there should be a 10% flat tax rate at the Federal level for all income brackets, with exceptions given at below $40,000/annum (gross). Giving our federal gov't more money definitely doesn't mean that we will all of a sudden be running a surplus and get out of debt. They will spend it on retarded wars of conquest and spending millions of dollars on studying how often wild geese f*ck when they are drunk (or other colossal waste of money)

So 2 of your logic points:
- Don't fix any loopholes if you cannot fix all loopholes.
- Don't increase rich peoples tax and maybe lower poor peoples tax, because if it means more money goes to the federal government it will not change anything about the deficit but bring more war.

So do nothing...

You should ask wages from some rich person for your work for their agenda.

I see your view, but here's how I feel:
There will always be loopholes, one way or another. Next year I could get taxed at ~40% on short term gains. Answer? Register a business in Malaysia - now I pay <12% with no US tax liability, so this country gets nothing. Is that "patriotic"? No. Does it make my life a lot better? Hell yes!

Increasing the tax rate will only drive more money overseas where it isn't taxed as heavily. That's why there aren't as many good paying jobs now as there were 30 years ago.


On your second point, starving the federal gov't of cash is a good way to stop the existing wars that we're in. Why fund a bunch of nonsense that gives you and me no benefit? The gov't spends least efficiently. Frankly I'd rather pay the state 15% and the feds 5% since more will be done for the community and state gov'ts are slightly less corrupt than federal.

I'm all for lowering taxes because it always works to bring a more prosperous society (banks and gov't "lifers" can go get a real job)
