Again, it's a man who would deny a woman's choice.
If a woman, skilled in the use of herbal abortifactants, would have been called upon to rescue the woman, she would have used one, depending on the time/term of pregnancy.
True. The argument here is the semantics of when one is actually "alive". In what stage in pregnancy is the unborn child "alive"?

Such a book full of children's stories and contradictions that can be interpreted any way you can think of. It has resulted in religions have have caused more war, pain, suffering, and death than any other thing in history, yet it is still interpreted literally by many all over the globe. What a joke. And yes, I have read the entire thing, more than once.
then you know that the evil acts in the bible are commentary
Not all. Even the God in it, who is "perfect", admits to being jealous. Isn't that a sin? How can one be perfect, yet sinful?
I would agree it would forbid abortion in parts, but not in others. Very contradicting through out the entire thing.
yeas and no its a sin for man to be jealous

Oooooo a double whammy.
Religion AND the abortion debate.
All that's missing is politics.

sounds like abortion fits right into that category.
Very well said.
No, the baby is NOT A SEPARATE PHYSICAL ENTITY! It is attached to an umbilical cord in the womb, through which it receives nutrients from the mother in order to grow.
The full-term baby is separated from the umbilical cord after it is born, and only then does it become an individual person.

By who's law? Certainly not the law of God! He breathed a soul into Adam, meaning Adam was given the breath of life. So, if it's breathing, it's alive.
Throughout the centuries, the Catholic Church has brainwashed people into this idea of the "sanctity of life", when they, themselves, hold no such mercy concerning life. They killed at will anybody who got in their way, even pregnant women. Their words carry little weight with me.

RE: Does the bible forbid abortion?
Who cares what the "bible" says, and why would you believe something that was written by some ignorant, archaic strangers with an agenda 2000 years ago. It's hilarious how desperate and gullible people are to believe these phony false deity religions, as if they know what "God" wants and says. WHAT UTTER BULLSHIT, HILARIOUS HOW STUPID PEOPLE ARE.

Not by Jewish Law:
"Jewish law sees the fetus during the first forty days of gestation as "simply water" and during the rest of gestation "like the thigh of its mother." It does not become a full human being until birth -- specifically, until the head emerges from the vaginal canal or, if a breach birth, when "the majority of the body" or the shoulders emerge."
