"Jewish law sees the fetus during the first forty days of gestation as "simply water" and during the rest of gestation "like the thigh of its mother." It does not become a full human being until birth -- specifically, until the head emerges from the vaginal canal or, if a breach birth, when "the majority of the body" or the shoulders emerge."

This is what I was talking about. But instead of going to apostolic sources you went to rabbinical sources. The apostles taught different. They held that abortion was wrong and that any woman who had an abortion was to be excommunicated until the end of her natural life.

Which Apostles are you talking about?????
All sin is forgivable except Blaspheming the Holy Spirit.... per the Bible... INCLUDING ABORTION.... which I know you don't follow the Bible, but it does record the teaching of the Apostles you reference.

Church TRADITION???
The only ones who adamantly follow THE CHURCH is Catholics.
The proto RCC was Cybele worshipers and Simon Magus Gnostic cult worshipers that combined around 200 AD.
They began sacrificing children EVERY MASS at that time.

You have quite an imagination.

The Roman Church is just one of the ancient Bishoprics founded by the Apostles.

There is also Alexandria, Corinth, Antioch, and Jerusalem.

Not to mention the various other national churches.

Quite correct but the Roman's thought that because they were in the capital of the empire they were more important... AND began following the Gnostic crap that Simon Magus was dishing up.
The others tried to call them back but to no avail... they refused to be corrected.
Simon Magus' title was Petr which means HE is likely the first pope Catholics refer to because Simon Peter personal friend and disciple of Jesus was never in Rome during his lifetime.

Abortion is Murder because it is killing an innocent human being.
Disagree?
The I ask you, IS THE DNA OF THE UNBORN SEPARATE AND DISTINCT FROM THE MOTHER, OR DOES THE UNBORN HAVE THE SAME DNA AS THE MOTHER?
Careful now.
My 3rd grade granddaughter can answer this one correctly.

things can be "living" before they are "born"
you can kill the "living"
thus, you can kill things before they are born

It says in the bible that God 'knit us together in our mothers womb',
therefore, as God formed each of us individually in our mothers womb, then abortion is literally akin to murder.

Jhikpghf I agree.

I wish people who cite the Bible as reference would use it factually and accurately. There is absolutely NO reference to abortion or being excommunicated, end of natural life or not.

Put aside those catechisms and read the Book for yourself. Step out of man's shadow into the Light.

Oh and P.S. God does NOT help those who help themselves. Another little meme inaccuracy. That one nor even the concept of it is in the Bible. Front to back.

RE: Does the bible forbid abortion?
The Biblical God is NOT pro-life, he advocates child murder, infanticide, child abuse and abortion:

Numbers 5:11-21 The description of a bizarre, brutal and abusive ritual to be performed on a wife SUSPECTED of adultery. This is considered to be an induced abortion to rid a woman of another man’s child.

Numbers 31:17 (Moses) “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every women that hath known man by lying with him.” In other words: women that might be pregnant, which clearly is abortion for the fetus.

Hosea 13:16 God promises to dash to pieces the infants of Samaria and the “their women with child shall be ripped up”. Once again this god kills the unborn, including their pregnant mothers.

2 Kings 15:16 God allows the pregnant women of Tappuah (aka Tiphsah) to be “ripped open”. And the Christians have the audacity to say god is pro-life. How and the hell is it that Christians can read passages where God allows pregnant women to be murdered, yet still claim abortion is wrong?
