I'm getting ready to downsize again. It occurred to me today that I don't need this much space. It seems to me that space is for "stuff". And I don't need this much stuff.

People don't need "mcmansions" for anything other than to hold their stuff. We don't need that much room. And we don't need that much stuff.

Our weather is finally cooling off so I can do a good clearout of our garage. It always feels good. I know there is a bunch of stuff in there that we don't need but it has been too hot in there to deal with it.

I gave away most of my clothes, shoes, handbags to Goodwill. Best thing I've done in awhile. Now it's jeans, tees, sweats, sandals.

All that costume jewelry? Donated it the Nursing Home. The residents like to play "dress up."

Bric-a brac? Donated to the thrift store.

Surplus towels, scatter rugs? Animal shelter. They were very happy to receive them.

I intend to do more downsizing in the fall and winter. I'm making room for the important things.

Yep. But I also mean a complete downsizing of the size of space I live in. I just don't need this much space. I use less than half of it.

My goal is to go out with what I came in with. Or as my brother used to say, I was born with nothing and I still have some of it left.

I'm getting ready to move. I already downsized from a 1600 sq ft 2 level apt to this one at 800 sq ft.
