Well, it seems we've already parted ways, as the above statement is not talking about the One God stated above. The "god" we're talking about here is typically Set/Lucifer who has spread his "identity" most everywhere on this earth.

The Bible is very clear. We do not have to guess because He has told us the details.

The only thing that is unclear (to you) is if the Bible came from God.

We have discussed the Biblical story conversationally. If you are struggling with the basic belief and the "story", I find this is far more helpful than a bunch of Bible verses that don't really "speak" to you.

But I have HEAPS of stuff typed up. I was just looking through my "Bible" file in Word and I have sooo much. Outlines of the Abrahamic Promise and the Davidic Promise, Death, Baptism, Names of God, Hope of Israel, law and grace, temptation and sin, prayer and forgiveness.

I don't want to just plonk a bunch of info on here that no one wants.

My best friend is trying to get me to put it all on a blog so it is accessible. But time is hard to come by for such a big project.

I did spend a lot of time following this line of thinking back... maybe 10+ years ago.
I was very hung up (then) on the idea of universal salvation. I wanted God to want everyone. A lot of psychology and philosophy had convinced me that we all have supreme value and that ultimately, we aren't really even responsible for our own (bad) actions. You know---the idea that even criminals were made that way by unfortunate life events---and if only they had better parents or didn't grow up in a ghetto, their lives would have been different.

But it is kind of like the talented class at school. It is for the smart kids. It's not mean that the average kids are excluded.

God only wants a specific kind of person. There will be a lot of rejection. There is no universal salvation.

And why should there be? God requires ACTION (ignore all that TV religion where they say all you have to do is "believe"--excuse me? if you believe, that means you will WANT to do the action)

What about all the people who have studied and sacrificed in their own lives to become the kind of person that God wants? Should their effort be rendered meaningless due to some kind of politically correct policy that says everyone should get a trophy?

Monotheism is a starting place. It is at least on the right track!!! Step 1 can be checked off on your sheet.

But now you must move on to step 2 and 3 and 4 etc.....

My BF (secular jew) has been into a variety of new age type stuff. God is love, love each other, big fat happy everything etc.
My comment to her was that sounds too good to be true.
Don't you think God is more precise than that? Look at the precision in creation.

If that is truly the way, then any additional work is not going to knock you off the path. But what if more work is required? Do you want to show up without your homework completed? (you won't be resurrected without responsibility--knowledge of the offer)


I think you do believe in God. Where it seems you struggle is finding the correct avenue to reach Him.

Do you think it is merely coincidence that this thread has produced these replies from me? You believe that God is in everything--perhaps He is using me to get this message to you?
