Nightmare scenario is a no vote later tonight. Only likely if PM makes no resignation statement.

The entire EU is in a terminal debt spiral and there are only a few options left to exhaust. With Greece and now Italy suddenly fraying at the seams many of those options aren't possible.

If he's referring to Evangelos Venizelos, Mr. Venizelos was quoted yesterday as saying "Greece's position within the euro was a "historic conquest" of the country that "cannot be put in doubt" and "cannot depend on a referendum"".
