A certain media outlet published a story claiming that the police were investigating an alleged homosexual relationship between a prominent Lord and a man of doubtful morals.
The man of doubtful morals was the rent-boy-loving gentleman running the pedophile ring for top people.
The media outlet said it had a picture of the prominent Lord and the gentleman, sitting on a sofa.
Unkind people spread rumours that the 'prominent Lord' was Lord 'X'.
Lord 'X' decided to sue the media outlet.
The very powerful Jewish lawyer, Lord 'G', offered to represent Lord 'X'.
Lord 'X' stated publicly that he was the Lord referred to in the 'rumours'.
He claimed that he had only met Mr 'K' three times.
Lord 'X' was a friend of the security services, the prime minister's wife and Israel.
Lord 'X' was awarded a large sum of money.
The editor of the media outlet was sacked.
The police were ordered to drop their investigation into Lord 'X'.
Lord 'X' was Lord Boothby.

This very strange piece -- which might have better run under the title "In Defense of Paedophiles" -- comes from Sir Max Hastings, an otherwise respected British author, historian and journalist. Not sure what the point of comparing child abuse to burglary is -- other than fouling oneself as a sort of paedophile apologist -- but Hastings does not let it drop there.
"The public obsession with paedophilia now obliges art galleries and auctioneers to exercise extreme care in marketing images of children," he says. "Many honourable and admirable people who work with the young must exercise elaborate care to avoid casual physical contact with their charges."
Uh, isn't taking elaborate care around children supposed to be a good thing?
