Personally I am really tired of every thought provoking thread getting hijacked by trolls and A-holes with their attempt at humor or off topic remarks about the OP. Their goal is to derail the threads and eliminate any serious discussion.

Ask yourself why they do this? TPTB don't want us thinking. They want us to work, pay taxes, and ignore the world around us, while they continue to plunder its bounties.

Suggestion: if you see a troll response, address them as a troll, but then comment on the subject of the thread to get the thread back on topic.

If the troll has already been flagged, then ignore them and participate in the discussion as if they didn't exist. The least attention they get the better this forum will remain.

I find myself sifting through page after page of off topic gifs, insults, videos and images just to find where the topic picks up again. This type of trolling will not help this forum succeed. So it is up to us to not feed the trolls!

Who's to determine just who is a troll?

If one of the agenda/propaganatards deems the opposing opinion poster to be a troll and is sanctioned to treat them as such I see a problem..

if a good thread gets derailed and we see and ask folks to stop and they won't, hells bells yes! Trolling can be considered forum pest if that is all that the poster does. Otherwise, they can be asked to back off.

I agree, just start a topic from the no no list and just wait to see how long it takes for a few of the same folks to show up over and over again.

Good point...But you've assigned intent, ("designed to mute discussion.") without proof

Some time an adhominim attack is well called for....
