In actuality the sentence is written correctly. All I did was copy it from the article. The "he" before the word raped refers to the most recently mentioned male in the sentence, the antecedent. That would be the "offender."

Any subsequent use of a pronoun like "his" before daughter is open to interpretation but common sense will usually prevail unless the reader is mentally or morally challenged.

The rule of use is stipulated in numerous grammar texts and dictionaries as follows:

Antecedent
An antecedent is the word, phrase, or clause to which a pronoun refers, understood by the context.
