‘We are now trying to learn whether disorders of the gastro-intestinal tract that have previously been of unknown origin are, in fact, due to the chicken pox virus.’
The researchers’ conclusions are based on several recent studies. In the first, six children who had all had chicken pox were tested and shown to have the virus lying dormant in their intestines. More recent studies on guinea pigs confirmed the virus can live dormant in the gut, and can be reactivated when the immune system is low.
In the latest study, six patients with gastric ulcers were all found to have the virus in their gut, following samples taken from their stomach lining

My sister was around the little daughter of a co-worker who had chicken pox and she ended up with shingles, too. Are they as painful as people claim?

It seems the real reason is due to GMO foods. I watched a long lecture on the damage they do to the body, especially the stomach, by a speaker (Jeffrey Smith) at the Consciousness Beyond Chemtrails conference last night. I distinctly remember my parents being thrilled when I got it, and I think they even encouraged us to play with kids who had it. LOL I guess it had something to do with the idea that you were better off getting the virus and getting it out of the way for the rest of your life. Seems pretty whacked, but I was just a kid and "parents" were like "dictators". And not the benevolent type either. LOL

But I got terrible IBS a few years ago. Turned me from an athletic person to an invalid. I spent a full year thinking I had a serious back issue. Doctors? Ha! Utterly clueless. Even the gastroenterologist where I finally ended up just threw a sample box at me and left me to pay for a probiotic pill every day for the rest of my life. Thanks doc. Thanks for nothing.

Eventually, after two years of severe debilitating back pain... I changed my diet and found chicken cleared everything up. So I ate chicken until I couldn't stand it anymore. Today I'm cured, and I can eat beef in moderation again. My back is fine. I'm trim and athletic again. I have no inflammation and no IBS.

Perhaps I was just going thru a chickenpox flareup? Who the hell knows. Life goes on. Enjoy the ride. :)

I read somewhere that all viruses leave remnants in the body even though the immune system beat them into submission. Weren't we told that once you get a virus and get over it, then you can't get it again? If this is true then it would have to be a different strain just like cold and flu viruses that circulate all the time.

IBS is a miserable, nasty, extremely painful and somewhat embarrassing problem, but thank goodness I seldom have episodes any longer. I never really found surefire triggers for it other than stress, although sugar has been a likely culprit.

I've never had a clinical case of chicken pox (even though exposed to it more than once) so I can't put the blame on the ailment.

Great. I have diverticulitis. I almost died from herpes zoster retro virus (chicken pox extreme) when I was 11. I had the chicken pox about six months earlier.
