Fidel Castro has suffered a serious, "embolic" stroke, according to a Venezuelan physician cited by The Miami Herald.

Jose Marquina, who spoke with El Nuevo Herald and claims "firsthand sources and information" about Castro's health, described the former leader's condition as "very close to a neurovegetative state." Castro is reportedly incapacitated, and "has trouble feeding, speaking and recognizing faces," Marquina said.

Rumors about the former dictator's supposedly failing health have surged in recent weeks. On Oct. 11, Venezuelan journalist Nelson Bocaranda said his death was imminent. Cuban state media released a statement on Wednesday that was purportedly written by Castro.

One big leap closer to normalization with Cuba.

Raoul has already taken big moves away from his brother's strong-arm reign, and I suspect that he'll not want hold the reins of power in his old-age. Elections will be held right after Fidel is buried.

Will Miami empty itself out in a flood back to the Motherland? Who knows. But I do suspect a huge swing from Socialism to Fascism will occur. I just hope that Cuba doesn't allow itself to go there, and get "Haiti'd," that would be a worse tragedy than the past 50 years.

My source in Havana has an impeccable record Castro died 0n 7 Oct but for propaganda's sake he won't be declared dead until the embargo's anniversary on or around the 23rd, besides his pupil chavez needs to be reanimated as well, his state of health has deteriorated after the presidential campaign
