I think I've seen 5 Chinese exchange students here, and a few in the rare Chinese restaurants and shops, so I'll refrain from laughing. This city, Rio, is so different to so many others I know with a dedicated China town.

For the pain of a burn, mint toothpaste takes away the pain. For infections, a comphry poultice works amazingly well. YM, your burn doesn't look to infected. Your body is the best healer. You will have scaring, I am sure. Burns are the worse, so I feel for you. I think you need a drink more then an antibiotic. Hugs

As an addendum, yes, my hand may be sticky as f*ck, all covered in honey, but the pain has diminished and it feels 100% better. I doubt if photos will do justice, but i suspect if i post pics tomorrow, you'll see the difference.

Thanks for all the kind words, and to the nay sayers - vai tomar no cu.

Don't ignore it, let run H2O2 over the wounds, it's a miracle what it does ...

Edit:
I see you already have found something.
Normally honey only helps temporarily as far as my experience goes.

Water was my first recourse, but perhaps you haven't heard of the antibiotic properties of honey.

care for some links?

Ok, to cut a long story short, some very sexy lady very sexy lady gave themself third degree burns on their hand on Sunday.

The blisters from this, were the largest I have ever seen in the flesh, so to speak. On three fingers, they were at least ½ inch in height ( 1 and 1/4 cms) and on the palm, the same height with a width of at least 2 inches (5cms).

I won’t go into the stupidity that caused this except to say it involved alcohol and fire. Not all the alcohol was in my blood stream as it was pure alcohol that caused the burns.

Anyway, to keep it brief, I awoke the next day and one of the blisters on my index finger had burst, leaving a gaping wound at least 2 inches (5 cms) long.

Now, I know I should have taken remedial action immediately as I know burns are susceptible to infection, but I am a lazy optimist.

From my knowledge of natural antibiotics, I could have used tee tree oil, but that ia as difficult to encounter here in Brazil as the Himalayas. There is an oil with similar properties in Brazil, but I forget the name and I had no idea where I could find it. I thought, what else could I use that was readily available? Honey, was the first thing that came to mind, especially Manuka Honey, I didn’t have that, but I had normal honey. Next natural anti biotic I thought of was garlic, but, being the ultimate optimist, I did nothing save giving daily baths in a super saturated saline solution.

I noticed that, in humid conditions, the wounds wept like you wouldn’t believe, but on an air conditioned bus yesterday, the wounds dried out completely, only to start weeping again when i returned to humid conditions.

Today, whilst on a bus, I decided to leave my hand out of the window to dry in the hot breeze for an hour or so. At the end of which, I realised that my index finger had become infected as it was full of pus. So, my laziness came to an end and I realised I had to do something. \i have zero faith in the current medical system so have taken it upon myself to treat it naturally with what I have at hand.

This thread is intended as a journey to either prove or disprove natural remdedies as I know them.

I have included photos, which, for the faint hearted i have put begind closed tags.

So, today is day 1 of my alternatibe treatment, which i will update. Why? Because I want to show the world that you don’t need doctors.

My first step was to eat garlic and I ate 2 cloves raw. Damn they were hot, but I can now guarantee that no vampire is gonna get me during the night, and those vampish women who, against my will, want to rape me, will finally leave me in peace.

Next step, is a super saturated saline bath, as I have already been doing, followed by a slathering of honey.

I have considered rubbing pure garlic juice over the wounds, but I am not too sure about that (I’m certain it will hurt like f*ck, but I’ll start with the milder honey)

So, here are the first pics from day 3 followed by the pics from day 5 – today.

All comments and suggestions are welcome.

I want to add that the first photos are after I pierced the blister on my palm because it was pissing me off.

Your first thought on honey will do just fine. Honey has a property to it that acts both as a band aid and has anti-bacterial and anti-viral in it. it works. The Egyptians/native americans used to use honey.

Only raw garlic can be used as well. garlic however has to be applied a lot as it will dry out. You could mix garlic oil and honey and that will suffice. Now, if the infection spreads into your bloodstream you have a different problem.

lastly, if you wanted to wipe it out you could mix honey, garlic oil and colloidal silver and apply. These three are the most powerful naturally on the planet. Again, if it gets in your bloodstream you have a problem. Then if you went completely natural internally (daring make your own penicillin). I wouldn't though.

RE: Fighting an infection naturally, without antibiotics.
Last summer I burned my arm and did almost everything wrong. 1doh1 First I put on Bactine, which I had in the car, not realizing it was years past the expiration date. When I got home I poured H2O2 all over it multiple times, not realizing if the bottle has been open for over a month, you should toss it. Now I write on the bottle cap the date I opened it.

So it got infected and spread *fast* and like usual, these things seem to always happen on Sunday. Scream1 So I went to the emergency room and got antibiotics, the first ones I've taken since I was a kid. After 2 days...whew...the infection stopped spreading. I was super glad for the antibiotics, but now I have new Bactine, new H2O2, OoO, and Manuka honey.

Good luck, Your Mom. Heartflowers I wish I'd been more prepared, maybe I wouldn't have needed to take antibiotics.

RE: Fighting an infection naturally, without antibiotics.
I recall reading about sailors during WWII who got burned on ships during the battles. They put them in or left them in the sea water until serious help arrived. It seems they fared better and less infection because of the salt than soldiers that weren't near the ocean.

Might want to consider that alternately between the other remedies you're trying.

Please don't wait too long if by chance it doesn't work like you hope. It's a pain in the butt trying to type with one hand or with a pencil in your mouth. Even if you are a hunt'n'pecker (snort!) it ain't worth it. (Sorry, That paragraph just flat doesn't sound quite right but I mean it in the most honorable way.)

I know you believe in mind over matter, but still, common sense has to prevail at some point.

Don't know how far away from the jungle natives you are, but I bet they have something that works for them that would work for you. Could be a nice road trip.

Not short enuff.

Use colloidal silver or just regular antibiotics. Doctors are good for some stuff. If you break your arm - go to the doctor.
