Women's "Die-In" against the Restart of Ooi Nuke Plant (Jun/07/2012)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYQNd2ybi...ture=g-u-u
On June 7, 2012, about 70 women including 10 women from Fukushima did a "die-in" in front of the Prime Minister's Official Residence to protest against the restart of Ooi Nuclear Power Plant. Before the die-in, 10 Fukushima women visited the Cabinet Office and met with officials to submit a letter of requests addressed to Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.
This video clip shows the words from the Fukushima women and part of the die-in.
On the very next day, June 8, 2012, Prime Minister Noda held a press conference and declared he would restart Ooi Nuclear Power Plant.

RE: Fukushima Disaster Thread. Rolling Updates
I tried to see what might be being said about the Oi n power station being re-booted, but after lots of spins of the little blue searchy-thingy icon, Chrome posted the message that my search for Fukushima Diary was 'interrupted.'
Naturally, I fear the worst for this search failure, but I will try again tomorrow and see if things seem normal.
I'm waiting for that Fukushima Diary site to go native. The ptb must have done a lot of work and put a lot of thought into how to infiltrate and subvert that site.
*
So the stupid bastards have ignored everyone and are going to go ahead and reboot a reactor. I'm hoping for and expecting violence of a degree necessary to keep the nukes in shutdown and gradually cool everything down.
The police are now openly arresting protesters - a far cry from the sympathetic stance we all saw last year.
They'd rather poison everyone than lose control over energy. If geothermal gets a break then small local power stations can shut out big gov and their gangster sponsors.
*
So ... Tomorrow (Japan time) they'll try to re-start Oi reactor, eh? Well it's certainly a bit late in the day to try to prevent a reboot the legal and official way, but public sentiment is vehemently against any restarts, so maybe if waving banners and getting arrested doesn't stop the criminals then ........... 'some other means' will. I certainly hope so.

Japan to develop new unmanned drones for monitoring Fukushima radiation
Japan’s atomic energy authority and space agency announced a joint project to develop a drone to measure radioactivity in the environment after radiation from Fukushima Daiichi Fukushima was scattered over a large area, and spread as far as several hundred kilometers from the power station by wind and rain.
Remote-controlled helicopters have been used but are not suitable for remote and mountainous territory as they have to fly low and the operator has to be able to see the aircraft, but unmanned aircraft could fly at higher altitudes over potentially contaminated areas, resolving the issue.
The plan is to develop a 2.6-metre-long aircraft with a 4.2-metre wingspan.

Fukushima residents call for criminal charges against nuclear officials
Tokyo (CNN) -- The executives of the Japanese utility that owns the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant and a number of the country's government officials should go to jail, according to a complaint filed by more than 1,000 local residents on Monday.
A total of 1,324 people lodged the unusual criminal complaint with the Fukushima prosecutor's office, naming Tsunehisa Katsumata, the chairman of Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) and 32 others.
The complaint argues that the 33 TEPCO executives and government officials are responsible for causing the nuclear disaster that followed the March 11 earthquake and tsunami and exposing the people of Fukushima to radiation.

Quake-proof buildings yet to be set up at 9 nuclear plants in Japan
Quake-proof emergency response buildings are yet to be set up at nine out of 17 nuclear power plants in Japan, reflecting the lack of progress in utilities' safety measures even after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami triggered the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear crisis, a survey by Kyodo News showed Wednesday.
The nine include Kansai Electric Power Co.'s Oi, Mihama and Takahama plants in Fukui Prefecture. The utility covering the western Japan area including Osaka said that until the completion of the quake-proof buildings, it will use emergency response rooms located under existing buildings.
The utility plans to set up the buildings for the Oi plant's Nos. 3 and 4 reactors by the end of March 2016 and at the Mihama and Takahama plants by the end of March 2017.

TEPCO again fails to find leaks at Fukushima plant
The operator of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant says a new method has failed to locate radioactive water leaking from one of the reactors. Identifying the leaks is a key step towards decommissioning the plant.
Tokyo Electric Power Company said workers used an infrared camera on Tuesday to search for the leaks in the suppression chamber at the No.2 reactor.
It was hoped that the infrared images would reveal the leakage spots by showing the temperature difference between the water and the air.
But the images failed to show a big gap in temperatures.
TEPCO says it will devise other ways to find the locations.
The utility has been injecting water into the reactor to cool melted fuel rods to prepare for their removal.
But some of the radioactive water is leaking from unidentified places.

A very short message from me
Posted by Mochizuki on June 12th, 2012
This is not news.
I thought I wouldn’t lose anything to tell it to everyone.
Today I had a major pain in the middle-left side of my chest. I hope it was nothing serious but it was the same place as last year before evacuation.
It wasn’t the pectoral muscle. The pulse was 73 per minute, a little faster than usual but still in the normal range.
Unlike normal pain in your arm or leg, pain in your chest doesn’t let you escape. and the more you worry, the worse it gets.
It felt like someone was picking my heart. Don’t even want to recall it.
More and more people are dying in Chiba or Tokyo. It’s easy to think it won’t happen to me, but I don’t want to be too late.
I mean, Fukushima Diary is against media blackout. but that’s only for the Fukushima battle line.
Media blackout is everywhere. Media is almost only to conceal the world from you.
so I expect everyone to fight against media blackout on your own battle line.
Battle line is everywhere, and you can fight with a little bit of bravery and passion.
Don’t let them dominate the information. Enlighten the people and help them make the better choice.
Let the soldiers know how stupid they are.
Truth doesn’t belong to anyone.
Break the “reality” in the screen.

In a couple of hours, I will fly to North America. I must get out of Europe now. It’s sad but am excited to see the world too. can’t wait for my chronicle to catch up with my evacuation life.
I’ll be occupied so I might not be able to update so much tomorrow. Please pray for me, I don’t want to be rejected at the custom office at the airport though I am legally ok totally.
About the last short message, I’m surprised to see a lot of the feedback. I appreciate so much but the focus was not my chest. It was about your heart. I wanted to focus on the importance to fight against media blackout because you can.
See you from the other side of the world..
